uh i do?
I wrote a script so doing such as:

wifi wi0 ssidhere

1) will lock to the specified ssid so if multiple aps are in the area they won't interfer
2) dhcp on that ssid
3) startup pf (my firewall)

Other than that I do use gkrellm for a clock, cpu usage, wifi strength meters, etc.
