To be fair, he really couldn't see what was in the bag. Still, it was very stupid of him to chase after a coin order.

Yep! They are sculptures in Boston Common from the children's book Make Way For the Ducklings. Its a true story about how a mother duck and babies pretty much went for a walk around Boston through traffic and whatnot unscathed.
