Prologue Chapter 1 Chapter 2 Chapter 3 Chapter 4 Chapter 5 Chapter 6 Chapter 7 Chapter 8 Chapter 9 Chapter 10 Chapter 11 Chapter 12 Epilogue
Needless to say, Ni~ya did not get his shopping trip with Sakito that day, in fact a swift week flew by before they found themselves seated once more in the impulsively chosen coffee shop that they had collapsed into on that first day spent together. Tucked away in the corner of a barely shared basement seating area, the two sat sinking in a deliciously soft sofa, feeling completely at ease. The mere presence of the other’s company had distracted from the whole concept of ‘shopping’ the both of them and so they were unhindered by bags as they sat, sipping at iced drinks that countered the soft flush induced by the pleasure of mere conversation.
Carefree; the dilemma of Ichiro was in the past. Although it was undeniably Ni~ya who had sparked the incident, the manner in which he emerged had it seemed freed him from the blame, and not one person had backed up Ichiro’s claim that he was not the one who ‘started it’. Consequently, he was expelled and swiftly disappeared from the area altogether- no doubt propelled by the rumour invented by Ruka and quickly spread by Yomi that he had taken a male lover, which preposterous as it was everyone at least pretended to believe.
High school students always were a fickle breed and Ni~ya was soon returned to favour, his relationship with Sakito quickly becoming a mundanity after the brief excitement- even for the former followers of the fallen Ichiro. That scandal was finished with now, and perhaps it was not entirely a drama in vain.
Sakito mused on this now, toying with the straw that protruded from his frappuccino, a private smile pulling his lips as he watched Ni~ya across the table. In such a short time, the boy had changed so. He seemed now... animated, his enthusiasm that had been so lacking replenished, and the former coldness that even Ruka had had to tolerate? Unbelievable at the sight of his doting tenderness towards Sakito. Of course he was still Ni~ya, and he was not averse to giving the one now most aptly named as his partner the occasional blunt order, but a transformation away from such manners would be a transformation away from his very conditioned self, and such a thing was far from wanted!
So it was a calm time now, untroubled, their blossoming relationship unfolding as if they were wearing rose-tinted glasses. Sakito was not naïve enough to believe this would last forever; after all there were still Ni~ya’s parents to contend with, plenty of Ichiros in the sea no doubt and countless hiccups that could be thrown their way, but such a thought did not fret him overly. For now he could enjoy this bliss, and enjoy the countless similar moments that would come to pass, even if their smooth dance together was intermitted with stumbles. After all, who needs the mundanity of a happily ever after when one is with Ni~ya? A person so varied that every day, every touch, every kiss… every increasingly intimate moment that they shared felt as fresh as the first breathtaking assault that was now looked back on in fondness. For Sakito, there was no need for a ‘Cinderella’ ending, only Ni~ya; Ni~ya and the countless nuances, and offset perfections destined to be as they explored their relationship together.
