It had been more than a few weeks since Roger had really seen Brian, but he was training himself not to care. After all, it wasn't like Brian was roaming the halls, moping and showing people a picture of Roger's face on a milk carton ( ... )

Brian was able to make Roger out all too well. It seemed like that particular posture, the very silhouette had been hardwired into his memory, causing a slight lifting of his foul mood at the sight of it--which only served to irritate him further, on the surface.

"Hey, Rockstar," he called as Roger got closer, exhaling a lungful of pot smoke in a frustrated huff.

The sun's ray shone bright enough to scald, and Roger grabbed his sunglasses from their perch on his towel and shoved them on his face. The voice, and finally the more recognizable torso and open-legged posture that made up the body Roger could map out like the constellations... in so much as he knew some parts better than others. A beltline was easy to pick out whether in the sky or on those particularly enticing hips.

"Hey, gorgeous," Roger said back, his bare feet sinking into the hot sand mere inches away from where Brian's where. He looked down at him from behind his sunglasses and smiles. "Have we met?" He was joking, though, all play and no malice whatsoever.

The tone was joking, but in light of recent events, Brian didn't find it funny. "That depends. Are you actually Roger?" he asked with a roll of his eyes, taking another hit.
