Dumbledore did Mundungus a favor, getting him out of trouble.

Mundungus got into trouble in the Hog's Head twenty years ago, and Aberforth's still mad.

What did Mundungus do in the Hog's Head that made it necessary for Albus to "save" him from Aberforth? It would've been half a decade or so before Voldemort's fall... Mundungus is most notably a ( Read more... )

Hmm. Did Aberforth and Mundungus have a confrontation in HBP?

Anyway, I stumbled across your journal quite by accident after reading your "Keys" editorial on Mugglenet (fantastic article), and I was wondering if you would mind terribly if I friended you? It always freaks me out slightly when someone friends me who's never commented in my journal, so I thought I would ask. I don't get over to Mugglenet very often, and it's much easier having interesting folks' stuff show up on your friends page than bookmarking a journal and having to remember to look. Or I could just be lazy :)

Aberforth and Mundungus had an "encounter" at least (in Hogsmeade, outside the Three Broomsticks). I'm more inclined to think of it as a "confrontation" based on their personal history, but I could be way off base.

Thanks for the compliment, and you certainly may friend me. Your journal looks really Potter-y, so I'd like to friend you back if that's okay.

You're quite right. I had to look it up (distressingly, it looks like the Lexicon is down- I had to use Wikipedia). I had forgotten that Dung was with Aberforth before he met up with Harry.

Thanks for the friending permission and the offer to reciprocate. My journal is definitely Potter-y, but I read more than I post, and when I do post- well, don't expect anything earth-shattering. It's called "Rambling" for a reason ;)
