Those are great! Little snippits from the life of a thief and his queen.
I especially liked the one with his brother, though, I think a conversation like that would have been more in line with his cousins. Have you ever read MWT's short story Thief! ?

Of course I've read Thief! :) I wouldn't be a good MWT fan if I hadn't. That wasn't Sten he was speaking to, as such a conversation would have been way out of character for the softer, intellectual Sten. Canonically, Gen has an undisclosed number of siblings, but we know he has at least one other brother, Temenus, who is a solider; and seems to have a similar personality to Gen's cousins. I purposely choose not to use a cousin, because I'd imagine Gen has become rather immune to their taunts and snide remarks over the years. I wanted this conversation to be more personal and hit closer to home. Only a brother would do for such a situation, and only a brother would know which words would have the most affect (i.e. the reference to falling).
