Yeah, I know, how could I? But, I just had to.

Thank you.

This is so very well presented, I could see it being part of canon. Oh, poor Eugenides. You really did a good job with painting a portrait of him here. And Costis as well. Also I like how quickly you establish the presence of his daughter.

The ending is so very lovely but sad! Have you, perchance, written more in this universe? ::hopeful::

Thank you so much.

I'm glad you liked the daughter. I was a little nervous about her, but I mean, obviously he and Attolia will have children.

I wrote one other little one-shot (much fluffier than this, don't worry). http://community.livejournal.com/queensthief_fic/12791.html

I hope to write more. I read TT and QoA over a year or two ago, but I just got KoA a few weeks ago and read it. That was the book that really sucked me in and made me love MWT's world, so I had to go reread all the rest and now I'm hooked. :)

Well done. But now I hate you for bringing up the one aspect of the future of Attolia I NEVER want to think about.

Thanks. But it must happen one day, sad as the prospect is.

If the next thing I write is fun and fluffy, will you forgive me?

This is going to sound a little odd, but thank you for writing something so depressing. The fact that you were able to tackle such an awful future scenario and do it so well and make us believe it shows that you're an awesome writer - well done!
I love the characterisation, and how you managed to show both Attolia and Gen's years of being happy together and... and... - without ever becoming mawkish or heavy-handed.
I also loved Alethea's cameo and her character - as well as that moment when Gen's confused as to who she is. That reminds me of a similar moment in another book, but I can't quite remember.

Anyway, I just wanted to say I loved this, and the way you told the story made me believe it, and that's about the highest compliment I can think of.

Wow! Thank you! I wish I could think of a lovely intelligent reply to you, but all I can say is thank you! I'm so glad you enjoyed it.

Lol *is slightly upset that you beat her to posting a darkfic* this was awesome.

*steals inspiration for the fic she is making*

Gosh this was just so full and complete, so short but painfully sweet. It's just so beautiful, it left a hole in me. It's so sad. You're so much better at darkfics! Mine is so bleh, and looong. I hope you forgive me for making one too. I didn't mean to copy your idea, I swear.

And their daughter was just so cool. I made sims of Gen and Irene and their kid was exactly how you described her (sorta) so it made me smile reading her description.

Oh it's just so sad, so sad. I think if I read it again, I'd cry! We need more darkfics and fluff. Yours are just so awesome.

*goes read it again, and again *

No! Write more darkfic. As much fun as fluff is, a lot of times the really engaging fics are darker in tone. Please write! I look forward to what you'll give us.

Thank you so much. This is actually much longer than I thought it was going to be. Costis and Gen just kept talking and talking and gazing at the sunset. XD I thought the end would never come (but maybe that's a good thing).

The ending was awesome and the relationship with Costis was so nice to read about.
I'll keep writing it only because I know at least one person will look forward to it.
I actually printed it out to show to my beta reader, I hope you don't mind :D.
