Okay, I know there are a lot of people in the writing community who are like "Ew fanfiction", and I know there are some that are like, "Well, I think it goes a long way toward getting people actually writing, which is how people get better and everything," and I know there are some other people who started in fandom and have since been published

oh god. you just made me think of something i had never dared to think of before.

the sheer amount of twilight-related fanfic out there must make up almost half the Internet by now. I bet the sales of notebooks and pens skyrocketed a few years ago, after young girls started scrawling their names with "-Cullen" after it and whatnot.

I mean, I've read my share of fic, from many fandoms... but I put it all out of my mind that there would ever be anything of that magnitude.

Personally, I'm grateful I've managed to get through life without ever seeing any of it.
