Revelations

221b Baker Street was the last place I’d expected to find myself on Christmas Day but an invitation from Sherlock Holmes is a rare thing indeed and so, obviously, I went.

He doesn’t really have ‘friends,’ so I was honoured that he’d think of me as somebody he might want to spend time with, although with Sherlock I’m never sure that he doesn’t want ( Read more... )

I agree with everything blooms84 said. It was really cool to see the Christmas party from Lestrade's perspective, especially in terms of how he felt when Sherlock threw out that callous deduction about his marriage. It's sweet that he felt guilty for not doing more to support Molly. I love the way he was such a gentleman and escorted Molly home. It makes a great contrast with the man we see calling Irene Adler to request her, uh, special services. However, I can see how someone with a troubled marriage and so much responsibility on his shoulders would crave that kind of release.

Lovely take on Lestrade's reaction to the Christmas Party from Hell (aka. 221b Baker Street). As impressed as I was by Loo Brealey in that scene, Rupert Graves just stole the entire thing and ran away with it. Loads of people have commented on how horrible they felt for Molly when watching, but me and my friends all agreed that while it can be claimed Sherlock genuinely didn't have the faintest clue that the fancily wrapped gift was for him, there's no such excuse for blindsiding Lestrade like that.

I also tend to approve by default of sexy blokes being submissive and obedient, if not downright punished, so bonus points and biccies for that!
