So after some help from our lovely new mods, I thought I should do a post about this, as their decision has opened it up for other characters too.
Basically, a while ago, Xion and Mahalia had the crazy idea of trying to transform the entirety of one of the wild places - it's made of magic dirt, right, so where better to make the largest thing you can think of? And what they wanted to make was an ocean, because just hearing the waves when you got far enough out in the dunes wasn't good enough.
Now, while they weren't really expecting to be, they were actually successful, and turned the entirety of the sand dunes into an ocean - with a lovely beach, of course. Because it's a combination of efforts, the beach resembles Xion's memories of Destiny Islands, and if you feel so inclined to take a boat out far enough, you will find Mahalia's memories of a village built out in the waves.
The girls were very excited about their creation, of course! But they got distracted by robots on their return to the gardens proper, and forgot to tell anyone about it. One of them will be going back to have a look soon, though, and make a post on the vine about it, at which point it's open season for ocean-related shenanigans! :D
Now the important details bit:
The ocean will only last until the end of the month, due to the unstable nature of the wild places, after which it will start to disappear.
Contact with the water will give your character wildcard effects, and drinking it will cause wildcard + hallucinations (although you should probably know better than to drink saltwater anyway, silly).
This has been approved by the mods here, if anyone wants to see the nitty gritty.
