Absolutely clueless was Kris' current outward appearance. She was mostly like that but when outside, things could always be dangerous. Life on the streets made that an obvious fact and despite her outside appearance, she was paying attention to her surroundings. The ominous feeling in the air was obvious but she made no move for the weapons at her waist. Kris didn't even know if she was even the target of such a feeling.

She decided to stop her little walk and wait to see if that feeling would go away or get stronger. Either option was fine with her but it would be best to discover what the intentions were, of course.

Kris let out a deep sigh. She really wanted a maid to take care of cleaning up her own place. Well, maybe she could talk her way into it later.

Akiha's definition of hurting was probably a little overrated though. Kris had been through a lot worse than Akiha gave her credit for once she could tell fairly well that her life wasn't in danger. May as well milk this for all it was worth.

Hot, fresh, delicious blood.

Akiha couldn't help the little sound she made as the thick liquid coated her tongue and she began to drink it. How long had she been drinking the bagged blood? While it still satisfied her bloodlust, the donor blood was cold and lacked the... zip fresh blood drank directly from the living possessed. Nothing could compare to this, and it was only her willpower that allowed her to keep from hunting.

The more Akiha drank, the better she felt and so her hand on Kris' throat went from gripping it to resting against her skin. Subtly, she monitored the girl's pulse, unsure how much blood she could safely give. She should stop soon, but there was something about Kris' blood, something unique that she'd never tasted before...

...and wanted more of.

It didn't seem like a good time for Kris to bring up that if Akiha was a vampire, she should have said so. Well, not a real vampire. Kris didn't feel the energy drain that was normally associated with vampire bites.

But, ah, she was losing quite a bit of blood, wasn't she? She was an adventurer so blood loss wasn't exactly a fatal thing for her unless it lasted for a long time. Kris could stand to lose quite a bit since she had her magic to rely on.

The odds were Akiha wouldn't have even acknowledged the comment given how she was reveling in the blood. She really had gone too long and she was going to need to discuss this with Hisui when she got back, as reluctant as she was to bring it up.

Some of the blood slipped past Akiha's lips to slide down Kris' neck. She was starting to take too much... and she knew it.

Stop. No. That's enough. It's never enough. You'll put her in mortal danger if you continue. More. There's a line you don't cross. MORE. ENOUGH. YOU WILL STOP. NOW.

Internally, Akiha hissed as she pulled away from the bite only allowing herself a moment longer to lap at the blood seeping from the wound. Then her grip switched, hand coming over to apply pressure to her neck and she released Kris' arm as she repositioned it to steady the girl if she really had pushed that line.

She paused to think, feeling the pressure on her neck as Akiha pushed on it.

"Is that it? I suppose vampires don't need mu-" Whoops, she stumbled slightly, feeling a little light headed. Kris had to focus a little to keep herself straight up.

"Maybe I underestimated it a little," she said, her head swimming in the clouds.

"I'm not a vampire," Akiha corrected as she looped her arm about Kris to keep her upright. "Can you walk or must I carry you back to the Mansion? I took more than you think I did."

"You should carry me." It's the only proper way to take responsibility, after all. And give more excuses to Kris' own laziness.

Akiha wasn't thrilled with the way Kris phrased that, suspecting it was more the girl's slothful ways speaking than need, but she didn't want to linger like this outside of the Mansion. And they needed to get a compress on the bite anyways.

"Very well," she replied, scooping Kris up into her arms. "Now be quiet. The more you talk, the more you'll bleed."

Without anything further, Akiha took them quickly to the Mansion. Once inside, she called for her maid as she headed toward the sitting room.

"Hisui."

Hisui runs over at Akiha's side as soon as she calls for her. She gasps, seeing the state of Kris. Hisui still has no idea what's going on but she knows it isn't good.

"Akiha-sama! Please allow me to carry her. I will treat her wounds right away."

It's not really a bad state. Half of it is just her laziness keeping her from doing too much for her own self.

"You do have a maid to share!"

"She's my maid," Akiha snapped again. "Anything she does for you is out of the kindness of my heart. I refuse to 'share' her. She will aid you now because I say so."

Akiha then addressed Hisui as she continued to carry Kris to the sitting room. "I will carry her. Get warm water, clean cloth, salve if we have any, and bandages. Her life isn't in danger; I made certain of that. Calm down. She will recover."

Hisui nods and rushes off right away. She'll meet her wherever Akiha takes her but that'll probably be the maid's own bedroom since none of the guest rooms are prepared right now.

She puffed up a cheek, pretty sure that this was sharing. You couldn't really justify it any other way. Oh well, being carted around and taken care of like this wasn't anything to complain about so she continued to keep her mouth shut. She'd hide it behind being weak, if asked.

Akiha indeed took Kris right to Hisui's room and set her on the bed before once more putting her hand, already wet with Kris' blood, back over the bite and reapplying pressure. At the moment, she far preferred Kris keeping her mouth shut than arguing with her over her maid.

When Hisui returned, Akiha stepped back to let the maid at Kris. She was fairly certain Hisui would be able to figure out what happened once she cleaned the blood from the wound. Kohaku used to have such marks before, though in a far different place...

She begins treating the wound, and like Akiha predicted, she knows what this is right away. The red hair was a hint as well, of course. However she holds back judgement for now. Kris has stopped bleeding so Hisui cleans the wound out and then applies a bandage to help the wound heal.

"You will be fine. I will make sure you are comfortable."
