[Once again, Sephiroth is young, eight or nine years old. She is often a child in her dreams, exploring memories she doesn't quite remember in the waking world, returning to the laboratory again and again. This isn't the laboratory. It is darkness--and then light. A strange place, but she likes strange places, new things, so she eagerly begins her journey farther in. She has the vague sense that there's someone she's trying to avoid, to get away from. Not the professor, someone else.

She is dressed in a child-size version of her usual battle gear, with a smaller copy of the Masamune.

Sephiroth is curious, fearless. She studies the symbols. She watches the dreams that envelop her calmly and analytically, making her way through them. They don't stop her from moving forward, along the path, toward the center.]

[there's someone else here, with the same goal, and she's held fast despite the confusing tumble of images, pressing onward. She's wearing a red dress, her golden hair tied back by a ribbon. Here, the ribbon is impossibly long, the tail ends trailing behind her on some sort of mysterious wind, disappearing far off behind her into the darkness.]

[when she sees the child, she hurries to her side, not concerned as much by the faint tang of recognition as by the sight of a child all alone.]

[she smiles, holding out her hand.]

I'll walk with you.

[Sephiroth turns toward the woman, studying her and her ribbon with interest. Is she the one--? No, she isn't. The one Sephiroth's trying to avoid looks more like she does. She hesitates as Claire reaches for her, unused to this kind of gesture, then takes the hand offered, gravely and politely.]

All right. I can protect you. There are monsters here.

[She nods ahead, down the path.] I'm going to see where it ends.

[protect her? This little girl? She does note the sword, but for some reason her dreaming self doesn't find it alarming. Instead, she just says--]

You're sweet. That's where I'm going, too.

[a small creature pokes its nose out from under her hair, chittering at the child.]

It's all right, Zapie. She's a friend.

Kyoko: SPOILERS FOR PUELLA MAGI MADOKA MAGICA stayedwithher August 13 2011, 18:26:12 UTC
[At first everything is normal enough. Kyoko is sitting under a tree with Sayaka; the setting is a location within the Gardens. The two are just chatting, laughing and smiling happily.

That is, until suddenly, the area distorts. The scenery has warped into nothing but a mix of bright and dark colors swirling about, there are loose train wheels rolling around, the air is filled with visible music notes....and Sayaka has transformed into this. Horrified, Kyoko jumps up and begins dodging the wheels and other projectiles that the monster that used to be Sayaka is firing at her.]

Sayaka! No! Not again! We...we were finally happy here! Please!

[A single tear streams down her face. The monster doesn't listen, but continues her attack.]

No...

[Kyoko steels herself however, and activates her Soul Gem, changing into her battle gear and wielding her spear. At first she aims to incapacitate rather than to kill, but that proves to be futile. She fights on and on, finally giving into the reality; she has to kill this monster. She has to kill ( ... )

[ Etna is going through a few different dreams, but this one makes her stop, sit on a rock, and watch. She just watches, not thinking to lend a hand or help at all.

Which doesn't necessarily mean she doesn't sympathize with what is going on. ]

Sucks, doesn't it? Being alone.

[Kyoko punches the ground in front of her in sheer anguish. It's not entirely clear if her response is addressing Etna or if she's just ranting to herself.]

We were finally together again! Everything was happy here! So why did this happen again?!

[ Etna knows Kyoko might not even be aware of her presence, but nonetheless decides to stay put. ]

What's the 'why' matter? If you're going to cry about that and not even think about the 'what' you're going to do, then you're just a kid.

Etna sexy_beams August 13 2011, 18:49:41 UTC
[ Etna's dream is simple and may not seem horrific: she is simply sitting on the floor in very large and ornate room. Before her is a bed; there is something under the sheets, but it may take a moment of looking and a bit of thought before one realizes it is a person. The sheets cover everything from the face to the feet.

Once one realizes that, it shouldn't be too hard to realize the person is dead. ]

If you had brought me, then it wouldn't have turned out this way.

CLAIRE persical August 13 2011, 22:32:19 UTC
[There's a young woman in a red dress in a field of white flowers, the breeze plucking at her golden hair. A small, furry orange creature sits on her lap, and she pets it fondly, humming to herself.]

[the air is strangely cold, however, and her breath begins to cloud the air in puffs. Snow is falling, nearly indistinguishable from the flower petals. She looks up, finally sensing something is wrong.]

[the little ball of fur scurries off, making a high-pitched keening noise, and she starts after it.]

Zapie? Zapie!

[she hikes up her skirts, hurrying through the flowers, scattering snow and petals in her wake. There's a figure standing at the edge of the field, tall, pale hair in a long braid down his back. When she calls to him, he doesn't answer, just takes a step forward and vanishes.]

[she barely hesitates, and plunges after him into the darkness.]

HIKARI (spoilers for NGE) orderlybento August 14 2011, 02:26:23 UTC
[The feeling of someone you love dearly embracing you greets you at this dream, and then the feeling of reality and your being splitting at the seams. There's too much pouring into your brain, until you forget you ever had a being and a brain in the first place.]

[This horrible sensation stops abruptly, and now you are suddenly in a small house. To those who have been here for a while, it's the same type of structure that housed two people during that long and blistering blizzard.

But the snow outside is now replaced by a torrent of what looks like orange rain, if you were to look outside, and your bunkmate is Hikari. She's huddled in the corner, her hair down and very silent for once.]

[it's close, too close to what she felt at her own end, and she "wakes" up gasping, hands clutching at her chest. Strangely enough, she's only wearing the white shift she originally arrived in. It takes her a moment to realize she's not alone, and another to recognize the girl curled up in the corner.]

Hi...Hikari? Is that you?

[Hikari hears the voice and she starts, looking around until she spots someone who hadn't been here a second ago... She feels small right now.]

... Yeah.

What's wrong? Are you hurt anywhere?
