[Though Kanaya is wary indeed after the Queen's latest gifts, she is not one to refuse a party. It is, if nothing else, an excuse to mingle and wear a pretty dress, so she arrives in a glamorous black number trimmed with dark red. Upon arriving, she plucks one of the many flowers, and can't resist tucking it into her hair.

The drinks, however, she remains wary of. What is this human pineapple of which you speak.]

[ Etna, in her own black dress, notices Kanaya--which is pretty easy, considering the gray skin and candycorn horns remind her of that other chick she had a friendly argumentative conversation with earlier.

She quickly floats over and gets right in front of Kanaya--infiltrating a bit of personal space in the process.. ]

Heeey~!

[Floating is still not something Kanaya is used to from people, but she doesn't react much, even when she's so close. Instead, she just nods her head politely. No need to be rude to strangers. Be multicultural, Kanaya.]

Greetings.

You look a lot like the other one, but your manners are loaaads better. That I can tell!

...Taste in clothing's better, too.

[ A party is honestly kind of lame, in Etna's opinion. She was waiting for something dramatic--like an assault by monsters or maybe a coliseum tournament arc--so this is certainly a disappointment.

However!

Free food and a chance to show herself off are better than spending another day laying around doing nothing. She arrives wearing a fancy, even if skimpy and inexplicable black dress. She is spending her time floating around above the ground and gorging on any and all sweets available. ]

It was a compliment! Why are you being so mean?

[ Soon after the party began, an absolutely stunning tall, beautiful, and shapely woman in a green dress comes strutting in--most definitely strutting, her hips swaying.

However, despite being quite possibly the most gorgeous and appealing woman to arrive, eyes will most likely be drawn to the fact she is lugging her newly-made six-foot-long broadsword in over her shoulder.

...You know. Just in case.

For now, she will not bother with food or drink; after all, she needs neither. However, she will eventually decide she needs to keep up appearances... ]

[ Larry hasn't quite gotten to the drinks herself. When she does, she might have to spike her cup too - this is kinda wimpy for a 'party', not that she expects anything else from the queen.

She waves when she spots Lamia, but the wave sort of dies midway. ]

Did you... really need the sword?

We will find out once the party ends if I did need this. I hope I didn't.

[ Larry's not even gonna mention the one-shot pistol on her thigh for now. ]

Parties, at least, seem to work out here.

[At first, Gabrielle is a bit hesitant to make it to the party. After all, she's still bitter about what the childish Queen pulled on her, digging into the depths of her past and using someone she cares about again her (all for a little game)-but of course, she decides against refusing to go because of someone else being a nuisance.]

[Walking into the party, it feels reminiscent of something familiar-like a scene from a novel. She thinks of the scene from Tender is the Night where Rosemary goes to have dinner with the Divers and their friends; almost a surreal, unknown world, and yet... one that the narrator herself fits into. That is, until, before the whirlwind of events she finds herself in.]

[Fortunately for Gabrielle, there is no handsome psychologists or crazy housewives in store. As if she had walked out of a magazine or even right off the silver screen, her outfit looks at regal as she. With her hair in a low bun, she takes a moment to gather the surroundings. Twinkling lights, the warm summer air breathing against her skin ( ... )

( Jules follows after Gabrielle, that eternal smile of hers in place. She, too, is struck by the surrounds for a few seconds, absorbing the flowers, the lights. It's beautiful, she thinks, even if this place itself is not exactly kind to them, and if the Queen's actions make this whole thing rather laughable; how lightly she'd apologised for the phantoms, with apparently no regard for how deeply it had impacted people.

Jules hasn't said that, though. She just keeps smiling, laughing to herself as she spots the drinks, and rests her hand on Gabrielle's shoulder. She's already complimented her dress, of course, and the action proves to keep her from fiddling with her own dress, as well as catching Gabrielle's attention. ) I think they're trying to encourage our cocktail idea! What do you think?

[Gabrielle smiles at her companion, turning to look at her briefly, before glancing at the row of drinks. A gentle chuckle arises at Jules' statement.] I think you're right. What's a party without a few cocktails?

[Nudging her friend in the ribs playfully with her elbow-she muses.] I wouldn't put it past you to have a flask of vodka or rum for an occasion like this, either.

what's the collective term for fabulous bitches? or might it be 'a fabulous of bitches'? typeright July 17 2011, 14:04:44 UTC
A tragedy is, I think, the word you're looking for. The only thing worse than no drinks are pre-mixed drinks in cans and bottles - pre-made cosmopolitans, and the like. ( A bit sigh, fraught with comical drama. ) Atrocious stuff.

( Ah. Ahahaha. She grins, attempting an innocent shrug. ) If I did that, it would definitely be for personal use, to make sure no minors try to enjoy it. ( Minors, or people that Jules doesn't personally like. )

[Normally a party was just the type of place Gavril actually enjoyed. Booze, random sex, and the occasional fight was more then her style, after all. But this, this was a snore to her.

The PG nature of the whole thing annoyed the zombie rouge more then anything and currently has her downing as much food and drink as she inhumanly can. Even if she wasn't happy with things, free food was never a bad thing.]

Not exactly, but... Her Highness likes to spike the punch, so to speak. Only instead of drunken shenanigans it turns into a stupid romantic comedy.
