Souji's Team sistagonist June 17 2011, 22:43:11 UTC
Souji sighs as the sword she once made out of Dunes sand turns into a frilly white parasol as she steps into the Jungle. She should have known better that to take something that was already questionably stable back out here, but...oh well. Hopefully that got her random effect for this trip out of the way - judging from the oppressive feeling in the air, Wild Cards were the least of her worries.

Hanging onto the lacy device just in case, Souji pauses just inside the border to wait for everyone else who had wanted to come along. There is definitely safety in numbers if the phantoms are still around.

Vivio looked around, sighing a bit as she felt a bit cold. This was it, hopefully they'd be able to find something here that would let them take care of those phantoms like Souji thought.

And maybe, just maybe, she might find out that Fate-mama was still here somewhere.

"Souji, wasn't it?" Zenobia approaches, wielding two short swords and looking serious for once. This whole business with the phantoms and everything has gotten her focused and wanting to do whatever she can to set things right.

She nods to Vivio. "I'm happy that you'll be by our side."

Sephiroth's team, aka TEAM no_hometown June 17 2011, 23:41:33 UTC
Sephiroth is always watchful. Having kept herself busy patrolling the borders of the Gardens since the Queen's outburst and the falling of the "stars", she noticed at once when the barriers went up, closing off the Wild Places. She noticed, too, when they came down again, accompanied by the cryptic message on the Vine. It had been logical to connect the two events. She had decided at once that she would enter the Wilds ( ... )

Loly was confident that Sephiroth could hold her own in a fight if need be, and she had no doubts about herself. She hadn't seen what anyone else could do in a combat scenario yet, but she doubted it would be necessary to. Between herself and Sephiroth, there was no need for anyone else to fight. In fact, Sephiroth was the main reason she was here. Her regular sparring partner wanted to explore and invited her along, and here she was. It also sounded interesting enough to investigate.

"Are we going?"

"Yes, if you are prepared." She gave Loly a faint smile. The woman was her most frequent sparring partner, and she respected her. It was good to have her at her side. "I'm not sure what the Queen means us to find, but I'll play along with this new game." She had made an effort to avoid the Gardens' side effects in the past, but she was beginning to lose patience and the will to be cautious. "We might learn something new in the endeavor."

"Have you yourself been visited by any of the phantoms?" She had not asked Loly previously, as the question was something of a personal one, and Sephiroth did not like to pry, but now the need was more immediate. "They can be disorienting at first."

Instead of replying to the cryptic woman, Grell had decided to read all the responses before making any conclusions. Going to the Wild Places was the best one to be drawn up, and so she had set off for there. On her own was perhaps not the wisest choice, but she was already moving before the idea of asking for help had occurred.

A group of women caught her eye, two familiar. Miss Sephiroth and Loly...perhaps they would allow her to join them if their aims matched up. Giving a small wave, she drew closer. "Are you also planning to see what might be found here?"

caprica + epsilon aunomdedieu June 18 2011, 06:49:11 UTC
Given recent events, Caprica isn't exactly eager to go along with anything the Queen - or the incarnae, for that matter - might ask. It's mostly quieted into a low simmer by now, but she's still angry for having her private life put on display like that, and for having the face of someone close to her used to do it. It wasn't right, it was a violation, and she's reminded even more of the way she's being kept prisoner here, caged, the same way she was held prisoner on Galactica before abruptly being returned to the Gardens.

But her anger is counterbalanced by the fact that she would rather feel secure in her home, without the threat of those phantoms appearing every few hours. D'Anna came back once, just yesterday, slipped up behind her and ran her hands down her arms (warm, and Caprica could practically smell her perfume mixed with the scent of her skin, so real and yet all a lie), and she'd shoved her away before she had a chance to say anything, practically thrown her sharply into the wall in a way she never would have with the ( ... )

Epsilon worries for the safety and sanity of her fellow residents. Not so much her own. What happens to her does not matter so much, not anymore. If she can help another, she will accept any harm that comes to her in the process. She will do what is necessary to protect the others here. She can't understand how the Queen can claim to want love and cooperation yet can continue to try to encourage it with such abuse. No one should be made to suffer, treated so cruelly. She can bear it. There are those here who are less able to cope with such attacks. Attacks are what the visitations are: a deliberate and spiteful action on the Queen's part. That makes her feel sad and tired ( ... )

"Hello, Epsilon." A slight smile of her own flickers at the corners of Caprica's mouth - though she also looks tired, worn. It's no wonder, if things have been more or less as they were when the Vine broadcast her and D'Anna together the first time, and they have. But Caprica's heart can endure a great deal; she is only really beginning to learn just how much.

"Did you have any trouble on your way here?" Trouble with the phantoms is what she means; she knows they're more prevalent out here on the fringes of the Gardens. She has been lucky enough, so far, not to see D'Anna again, or Sharon, or some version of Gaius. Caprica believes there are things to be learned from pain, but she has already learned this lesson. She's done with it.

[ Batgirl's stood on the edge of the wild places, metal staff between both of her hands. She waits, chin propped up against the top, allowing herself ten minutes to think things through. Ten minutes to decide whether she really wants to go in there, if she wants to face any more ghosts; she gives herself ten minutes to wait, in the hope that she'll stumble across someone else who needs protecting, or at least company for the trip into the unknown ]

[Approaching Stephanie from behind, France silently raises and eyebrow at the spandex-clad woman. Then, creeping closer as silently as she could, she placed her palm on the small of Stephanie's back and pushed her forwards.] Quite alright there, chèrie?

[ maybe she's a tad on edge after all, despite what she's been telling herself, because rather than go with the motion, hop forward, and then spin around, she swings out her staff first. There's no contact, of course, and when she looks over her shoulder she frowns, immediately dropping the weapon back to her side ]

... a little jumpy.

Clearly. [Doesn't seem put off by the staff at all.] What are you waiting for, chèrie? Are you hoping the solution to our little problem is out there? ... Or are you waiting for someone?

[Mi-na didn't have much of an idea of what that message on the vine had meant, but she was smart enough to figure out the part about the walls, at least. When she had first encountered the barrier around the wild places, she thought they might have been a permanent fixture to keep people trapped within in the Gardens. Now, though, just as she had suspected, they were gone, which made her wonder...]

[Well, no time for that now. She could ask around later.]

[The sand of the dunes churned under her feet as she contemplated the rest of the riddle. 'Take what's yours'? Could there be something from home waiting out here, or did that mean something else? Only one way to find out, she told herself as she made her way deeper into new territory.]

[Jolyne wandered over the dunes, squinting to keep the sun out of her eyes. She could hear phantoms whistling through the air around her, but she shut out their voices; They wouldn't have anything useful to say.]

[Finally, getting sick of the sand and sun in her face, she unravels a portion of her body and weaves it into a hood and face-wrap, shielding herself. It also kind of cut down on her peripheral vision, so she didn't see Mi-Na there until she practically stumbled over her.]

Whoa! [She steps back out of the way as she's almost stumbled over, almost staggering herself in her haste. Thankfully for her pride, though, she doesn't quite, and she managed to keep the sharp end of her wol-do from hitting anything it shouldn't.] Hey, watch where you're going!

Whoa!

[Jolyne manages to narrowly avoid falling over completely, settling instead for a brief slide down the dune. She peers around and finally spots Mi-Na. She hold up her hands apologetically.]

My bad! Hard to see with this thing on.
