Characters: Signum and Marisa Date: June 7 Summary: A trip to the Wild Places gets sidetracked by plot hitting them in the face. Literally. Warnings: Quite probably abusive language
Marisa sped along the Gardens, little whirlwinds of leaves and grass billowing behind her. Although it had been less than a month since she arrived, Marisa had familiarised herself with its layout, mostly due to her desire to find interesting things and places. So far, she hasn't been disappointed.
She was swiftly approaching the Wild Places when she saw a familiar pink-haired figure a good distance below her. Curious, she slowed down her flight, and flew towards Signum.
Signum finishes rubbing her nose and straightens up in the air, trying to preserve at least a little dignity.
"Someone has put a barrier between here and the Wilds," she explains, offended. "It feels about as solid as the one around the whole Gardens," she adds.
In spite of this, she draws the mechanical-looking sword on her belt and pokes at the invisible wall, probing it for possible weaknesses and only finding that the contact of metal on force makes a 'tink' noise.
Instead of saying something useless like "Eh" or "Really?", Marisa reaches out and touches the air in front of her. Her fingers touch a smooth, solid block, as if air had solidified.
Well, what do you do when an obstacle gets in your way? Destroy it!
Marisa flies up until she's fairly sure that Signum wouldn't be hurt by any splash damage, then digs out a small, octagonal block of metal from her apron. She whispers something, and a small flame appears at the centre of the block for a second -

"Either the barrier's gotten smaller, someone wished for a safety margin, or something's happened to the Wild Places," the knight concludes.
