She still didn't quite trust the food here, but there was only so much one could make with a camp stove, and the damn thing did seem to keep burning through fuel faster than it should. So Ren was out collecting fruit. It seemed easier than trying to hunt any of the animals, and she wasn't a big meat eater anyway. Fruit at least could be eaten raw.

She'd managed to just look up when she saw the blue-haired girl wizz by. Curiosity got the better of her and she followed from a safe distance, trying to figure out what the girl was flying on. When she saw the crash, her breath initially caught in her throat, but once the girl sat up, Ren couldn't help an amused laugh from bubbling up. The other girl just looked so ridiculous!

She closed the last bit of distance at a jog, and did her best to hide her smile as she asked, "Are you all right?"

So much for not having other people witness that shining moment of failure.

Ramona sighed, pushing herself to her feet and shaking some more water off. "Yeah, a little water never hurt anybody. Except maybe witches," she answered. Looking up, she noticed the older woman just barely constraining a smile, and Ramona returned it with a wry grin of her own. "I can tell you're just a mess with worry over me, so, yeah, don't worry. I just got screwed over by technology, that's all."

She stole a glance over her shoulder at the now-lifeless hoverboard, sitting pretty on the bank with barely a splash on it. Damn you, fictional technology.

Vivio blinked, walking over to the steam as she saw the girl who had been flying on that board thing start climbing out of it. "Hey, are you okay?" That looked like it had been fun... until the crash, anyway.

Well, there were worse people to see her make an ass out of herself than non-judging little girls. Ramona supposed she ought to be thankful for that, at least.

"Yeah, don't worry about it," she answered with an embarrassed smile. "Just don't wish down anything ever used by anyone answering to the name 'McFly'. That is the moral of today."

Vivio blinked, looking over at the girl. "Well... okay. I'll keep that in mind. But umm.... who's 'McFly'?"

[OOC: Don't worry about it, it's fine.]

She supposed she ought not to be surprised that kids today hadn't seen the Back to the Future movies. They were pretty dang 80's, after all. "Never mind, he's just a guy from a thing. And in this place, we don't get a lot of guys, as I'm sure you've noticed."

"... and I was about to ask for one of those myself until it suddenly crashed like that," Kazumi said lamely, having been in the Orchard for obvious reasons (re: eating).

After a pause, she added, "A-anyway, uh... are you okay?"

Not that Kazumi had much in the way of first aid training

By the time Kazumi made it over to her, Ramona had retrieved the board and wrung a good amount more of the water out of her hair and a little out of her clothes, though she couldn't do much more without taking them off entirely. Not something she wanted to be doing in the middle of an (apparently) crowded orchard.

"Yeah, not exactly all it's cracked up to be," she answered, holding up the board before shoving it down into her purse. "I'm guessing DeLoreans are off-limits too." She paused, then remembered she was talking to the girl who hadn't understood the Popeye reference. "It's a related technology. Never mind."

She sighed softly. "But yes, I am indeed okay. Just wet. And cold. Tea would be nice right now."

Indeed, Kazumi favored media from her home country, so the reference is again lost on her.

"I wonder if the room service delivers tea..." Kazumi said lamely.

Ramona snrked. "What, you mean Canary Express?" It had seriously been a bit of a thing to watch four birds carrying a plate full of food to her after learning that that was even possible. She was almost tempted to try it again for the sheer novelty of it, but wondered if that counted as animal cruelty.

Anna glanced over to the source of the disturbance and stared winced. "You okay there, Ramona? Need a towel or some help or, or something?"

Geez, I'm lucky the entire Garden wasn't here to watch. Sure feels like that now, Ramona thought, her cheeks turning a faint pink as she pulled a brush out of her purse to get her hair a little more under control. "If you've got one, that'd be cool. Otherwise, I'm probably good. Pretty much just my dignity's hurt here, nothing else," she answered with a short, self-deprecating laugh.

"Hurt dignity. My god, worse than I feared," Anna deadpanned.

Anna walked away. When she came back, it was with a large bath towel. She tossed it to you, muttering something that was probably "Catch."

"I know. Tragic, isn't it?" Ramona snarked right back. She caught the towel and pulled it over her head, drying out her hair first before wrapping it over her shoulders and around her upper body. "Thanks, dude. That'll do until I can get someplace to change."

It really was hard to think that this girl was actually younger than her. If she really studied Anna and had to guess, she would have pinned her at close to Knives Chau's age, maybe slightly older. She had this "Been there, done that, bought the t-shirt, killed the t-shirt vendor" sort of hardness to her, though, that added years on when just glancing at her. It wasn't really something Ramona was used to seeing, at least not in other girls. "How've you been holding up so far, by the way?" she asked, honestly curious.
