Characters: aunomdedieu & thesamename
Date: February 15th
Summary: There's a vampire plant tied to Jackie's ankle.
Warnings: Some blood, some cursing. Jackie has issues with suicide that I suppose an encounter with lethal blood loss will have her thinking about.

It had not taken her long to notice that the vine was filled with singing. It hadn't taken her long at all ( Read more... )

Caprica herself hadn't exactly been comfortable with the mood in the air, either - not least because the flower she'd been tending to had actually made it worse. The feelings themselves didn't bother her; it was merely a reminder of how alone she was and how the one person she wanted couldn't be there with her. But she'd kept to herself, as difficult as it had been to do so ( ... )

Consistent was certainly a word for it, her emotions were a burning pile of wreckage, but she overcompensated for that extensively with her routines and habits. She had not intended to go far from the library in the first place, and perhaps luckily for her, she did not make it too far either. She and her plant were inextricably linked still, and it had been following their little red thread all morning long, the scroll tied around its stem still commanding it be cared for.

Jackie was not so skilled with care, she was not so skilled at battle either, and there was little she could do when the blood-thirsty plant beset itself on her. What begins as anger and shock turns quickly to panic and fear when the large thing's weight settles over her and its thorns sink in to her. She is a small woman without being half-starved, and the blood it takes from her is blood she doesn't have to spare ( ... )

I remember this a little from when you did the monster plot with Paderau. XD aunomdedieu February 24 2011, 03:45:27 UTC
Caprica isn't too far out from the library when the scream rings in her ears. And she doesn't know whether it's Jackie or not, though she suspects it might be, but at the moment it doesn't particularly matter. Without any of her own volition she breaks into a jog, then a run, and a few moments later she skids to a halt, confronted with the scene ( ... )

She is in shock. Even without her blood spilling out onto the grass, she imagines she would have been in shock, attacked with such sudden ferocity, rescued with equal abruptness in a burst of flame and the unearthly shrieking of the jilted rose. She is shocked, has prided herself in her quick mind and her ability to adapt for a long time, but the moment is too surreal, too violent, too erratic. And she is bleeding, no longer in such intense pain, with thorns pinching and ripping at her skin, but she is bleeding and she is in shock.

She stares up at Caprica helplessly, feels hands on her and shudders once before reaching out to grab at the woman's sleeve, as if that will steady her in the tumult. Maybe it does, or maybe she closes her eyes and pretends that it's Dominique-(blonde hair and blue eyes, that's all she needs, she clings and she holds on to that image)-even if she knows she'll never fool herself into really believing that ( ... )
