Does this mean we should be suspicious of future shifts within the garden?

I kind of tend toward being suspicious of everything in the garden.

I don't think we've met yet. I'm Jessica Boyette.

I believe I should be as well... perhaps that was my mistake.

Hisui. It is my pleasure, Jessica-sama.

Mistake?

Likewise. How long have you been here?

The flowers could just have caused the dreams with some magic pollen or something, the queen would be uncreative enough to pull that one.

I'm not sure they were Her Highness's fault... the Powers That Be seemed pretty determined to have us get rid of them.

Oh they said so, but they did nothing themselves, so I really doubt they cared much, they just wanted to keep us busy.

Point. Though there's been other times where they wanted stuff done that they said they couldn't do...

I wonder what would happen if we just ignored them next time...

[hm, she is a magic user, so this entry pings her]

good afternoon, miss. I am experienced in magic, but I have only recently arrived. Would you mind explaining to me what happened?

Well, the short version is that there was a sudden storm that forced everyone to stay inside- in the original buildings, not the ones we made, because this place sucks- and then afterward the place was full of new flowers that eventually started growing everywhere and ripping things apart. Meanwhile, everyone kept getting into each other's dreams.

Assuming you just meant the most recent craziness and not... everything else.

[she nods] I've heard of other terrible stories about this place. So you think the flowers were the cause of the dream exchange?

[something else the other woman said piques her interest, but she will bring it up later]

After a fashion. I'm more thinking the flowers and the dream exchange were both, er, co-symptoms of some unknown cause. That might have been messing up the system here.

Wish I could help, but I think I mentioned this kind of magic is way out of the realm of my experience.

Those flowers were nasty, though. I figured they were causing the dreams, but I guess there's no real way of knowing.

Yeah, that's why I'm doing this: I can't do anything on the magic front, but I know how to organize information. [She looks at the spread around her.] For a particular value of "organize," at least.

Actually, if you want to help and you have some time, I could probably use some help resorting this. I've kind of painted myself into a corner.

I'm more interested in the destruction the plants were making than the causation of the dreams. I'm not sure how concurrent they were.

I can do that, definitely. Where are you now?

I've seen plant-like monsters, but these were just...strange.

Fortress, my room. If Bulbasaur's not wandering around, you can get one of our robots to show you the way.

Plant monsters? How does that work?

[Just her helmeted head, giving the sort of headcock and disdainful grumble that suggests she doesn't quite agree with kind of a shame]

What, you weren't looking forward to the destruction of all we knew? [That was... probably a joke. Definitely maybe.]

Anyway I'm pretty sure they could've been contained somehow. If we're ever getting out of here, something that'd give us a clue about the structure of the place would be key.

[A grunt. She prefers destruction that she creates herself.]

[She settles into a low grumble at that Jessica's second bit. She wasn't sure anymore if going back for her was such a good idea. True, she missed the AIs with an ever-present yearning, but on the other hand, she face probably certain death. It was a conundrum.

Well, granted not everyone wants to go, but... there has to be a way to let the people who do out.

[She leans her chin on her hand, looking down] It'd be okay if it were just people who had no reason to leave. People who needed a new home. I just wish I could make sense of something.
