[ Madoka, who had began to walk towards the source of the voice, stops upon seeing the other Madoka--continuing to watch until the kiss. Her eyes widen a little at that, face flushing as she looks away for a moment. ] H... Homura-chan...?

[ That wasn't her-- she feels embarrassed, and a bit awkward at the same time. ]

[The voice of the girl directly in front of you is not one you expect to hear coming from another direction.

It takes Homura to realize where that voice did come from and she turns to face the real Madoka in surprise, pulling away from the one currently on the picnic blanket with her. Dumbfounded by the presence of two of the girl, she's not sure what to say for a moment.]

...Madoka...? There are two of you...?

[ Madoka shakes her head, her eyes growing a bit wider. ] I-- don't really understand what's going on.

[heartovertime]

[Homura looks between the two in uncertainty. Both look just as Madoka should, with nothing to really set one apart as an obvious impostor.

At last she focuses on the new Madoka for her questions.]

This...This is some kind of magic, isn't it? Where did you come from, Madoka...?

[Meanwhile, the Madoka she has been with remains silent for some reason, just watching the two, but Homura doesn't catch on to this.]

This might sound strange, but... I don't know.

[Looking between the two girls again, Homura climbs to her feet.] You're really there, aren't you? [She steps forward towards Madoka, reaching out to take her hand, to see if she really was solid and not just an illusion.]

[ A nod, and she takes her hand, squeezing it gently as she does so. ] It's me.

[It's true - Madoka's grip is just as she would expect, rather than being just some trick of light.] You...you really are...

[She turns to look back at the other Madoka, unsure what is going on. And yet, the Madoka who was on the blanket, the Madoka she had kissed just moments earlier, is now gone.]

Huh?...Did I imagine that...?

That's... [ Madoka bites her lower lip. ] Do you... think that the Queen did something weird again...?

[heartovertime]

I...I don't know. Maybe she did...

[A realization comes to Homura's mind and her cheeks redden. Her eyes lower a bit and her loose hand moves to her lips.]

...That...that wasn't with you was it...?

[ Her own face reddens a little. ] N... No-- but... It's alright. You didn't know.

[Oh... come to think of it... Homura quickly realizes that they hadn't done that kind of thing before, nor even talked about it. But it had just felt so right at the moment, even though she can't quite remember what it actually felt like now. But...what had she done it with? Was that some other Madoka...?

She looks away, unsure what to say to that, and quickly she tries to change the subject, looking back to the blanket and picnic basket.]

W-Would you like to sit down, Madoka? M-Maybe we can figure out what happened...

O... Okay. [ Madoka looks somewhat nervous, but she does so. ] .... Uhm... How did.... all of this start...? Where did the other me come from...

[heartovertime]

[Homura sits down half facing Madoka, leaving a little more space than usual between them.]

I don't know...we...we came here for a picnic, since it was such a nice day... [But coming here, it was all but a blur. Maybe because they were talking, but about what she doesn't remember.]

...Do you remember any of that...?

[fatedmagia]

... No-- I just... I remember waking up just a little while ago-- and I was here.

[heartovertime]

I see...

[Homura sits with her hands in her lap for a moment of awkward silence, trying to think more about where the double may have come from and less about the moment she had with that double while Madoka watched. It wasn't working very effectively.]

...Maybe we'll hear some news about this...
