[Kuja is standing in front of her Treehouse (adjacent to Sora's), smiling at the Vine as the mirror opens. This is obviously not an accidental filming. Kuja addresses the audience formally, with a slight bow.]Good day ( Read more... )

It would be an interesting collection, considering how many different times and worlds exist here.

There's only so many romance novels someone can read before they get a big bored of them. [She gently laughs.]

I don't doubt that the opportunity to peruse such a collection is one few of us have had in the past.

I agree. They aren't exactly to my taste. I trust I can count on you for a contribution. You must be familiar with so much of the best your own world has to offer. [When you want something, a little flattery never hurts.]

Mn, an entire mix of things. [She tilts her head a bit, a curious smile.] History, mechanics, architecture, works of art-we would have quite an extensive collection!

I'm flattered you think that... [Gabrielle looks a bit proud of herself, she's always taken an interest in many different readings. Contemporary, classics, military texts, scientific theories, the list could go on. She seems to take pride in this, for what her world does have to offer. Novels she's longed for, things she missed have the time to read-the feeling of a novel beneath her fingertips.] I'm inclined to agree, though.

But, I could say the same for you.

A peerless array, one might say. [The idea appeals to her. She likes things that are unique.] We could see styles we never knew existed and read histories we never dreamed of.

It is apparent that you are a woman of intelligence and taste. [She nods to acknowledge Gabrielle's words concerning her, and smiles at the compliment.] Not to mention perceptive.

I've already started to recreate my own library. Once the museum has been built, I will begin to remake my personal art collection.

You would take responsibility of such places?

Yes, I would, with pleasure. I am used to industry. [Industry of a different kind, but she's never been an idle person.] Not to mention committed to the arts.

It's an interesting idea. I imagine the collections could grow quite large, if everyone collaborates.

That was my thought. I'm surprised no one's had it before. There's so little organization here. Few civic works, no real society. Such a lack of ambition, it's nearly palpable. If we are meant to live together, should we not make the experience as pleasant as possible?

[Sitting curled up on a high bed, feet bare, she stares at the vine quietly before she says,]

I used to... make copies, of art.

[Kuja is intrigued.] How fortuitous, as copies of art are precisely what I need.

[She remembers Zinc's issues with mobility.] I can easily obtain you some of the necessary soil. When can you begin?

[She gives the witch a curious look, something pathetically hopeful in her expression.]

Whenever you want.

[She had painted, and carved, before she died, had used her incredibly detailed memory and downright pedantic hands to replicate masterpieces. Much of it was still locked away in her head, even if she was unable to control her hands finely enough to create them that way in her death.]

[She's pleased at this quick agreement.] Excellent. Then we will begin very soon. I've already created many of my own books, and the act is simplicity itself.

We can start with small pieces, things that are easy to transport. It would be best to create the structure itself before making anything more unwieldy, and I have yet to consult with my architect.

[Smiling, Reeve gives a little, semi-ironic bow. Kuja seems to inspire that sort of thing.]

I'm no fine artist or writer, but as your architect I'll be happy to make myself available for the construction of buildings to house whatever you manage to collect!

You have only to clearly remember extant works from your world to create them. I have already begun to recreate my own personal library. It isn't difficult.

[She gives Reeve a nod, accompanied by a beneficent smile.] I had already assumed that you would be assisting me, of course. We will have to meet soon to begin planning. I think it's best to have the buildings before the collection. I expect they will fill up over time. [If I have to do it myself, her tone seems to say.]

Well, I do have a good memory for sculpture in public spaces-- perhaps I can contribute a bit after all.
[Reeve chuckles.]
But yes, since there is some urgency, perhaps I should start in on the buildings as soon as possible! I think I can pencil you in for a meeting any time tomorrow.

Excellent. Sculpture is a fine art. I admit, I am partial to it. But your primary responsibility will be to create beautiful structures, of course.

You can come to my Treehouse at any time tomorrow. You know where it is.

That sounds like an absolutely marvellous idea, Miss Kuja! You have my undivided support, and I'm willing to assist how I can.

It's funny that you'd bring this sort of thing up...I'd already begun writing down my favourite plays in my spare time, so that's already a start, you can say!

I'm pleased you approve! [Another bow.] Any contribution you could make would be appreciated. I'd love to read the plays of your world. What a fine way to spend your time. I've been recreating some of my favorites as well. Not by hand, but I'm sure I could remember them well enough to do so. I've learned so many of them by heart.

Perhaps in future we could make a theatre as well, and stage performances.

I'll do my best to get them completed so that you may read them. You might like the way the language flows, the rhymes...the metaphors in these plays truly have a way of sticking to you.

[Oh. Oh Kuja. You just said magic words, and she is staring with utter adoration.] That would be perfect...there has to be more of an acting population here than would appear.

I'll be delighted, I don't doubt it. You paint an intriguing picture. [Plays in verse! What could be better?]

That was my thought as well. [Kuja's always prepared to enthuse about her own ideas.] Even if there are so few professionals, such as ourselves, there's sure to be some raw talent to be found, some rough stones we might polish into jewels. We may have the texts of plays, but they never truly come alive until they're brought to the stage.
