[Have a very unusual sight. Washington has actually decided to put aside the armor plating and helmet for the moment, instead just wearing the black under-suit from her armor.]

You know, now that those damn things that kept showing up are gone?  I think I could get used to a place like this.  The Meta's even been contained fairly well for the ( Read more... )

These things occur every few weeks. It is best not to grow complacent.

I'm not being complacent. I'm just enjoying the short chance to relax and recover.

I didn't mean that you were. I was only warning that it should be avoided. Rest is necessary as well.

I appreciate the warning.

Life here can pretty much be broken down into three distinct parts.

Phase one: “Holy crap, that person/monster/illusion/robot nearly killed me/maimed me and actually transformed me/screwed with my emotions/brought up repressed memories!”

Phase two: “Whoa, dude, everything's quieted down. This is actually pretty nice! Lesbian paradise or not, I guess I could get used to this.”

Phase three: “Ohmygod, I am so bored. Can't things start trying to kill us again?”

So we're in phase 2 now. Good to know.

And I won't be complaining about boredom.

You'd think that not complaining would, like, anti-jinx it or something, but this place is fixed to a pretty tight schedule.

Such a shame.

As long as you don't mind hanging around a lot, the down time isn't too bad.

I don't mind downtime one bit if it's safe and not locked away in a cell.

Are you... used to being locked in cells?

I spent some time in jail and some time locked away for insanity. But I'm not crazy.

I'm wondering, what part of being abducted by an insane queen, being expected to make out--or get it on, or give each other presents--for her entertainment while being surrounded with goofy, girly, fake shit is a "paradise"?

Not to mention the total boredom, followed by random crazy shit going down--oh yeah, and the annoying and sometimes psychotic people who live with us?

Is it the good weather or something? Are you a big fan of flowers? Do you get off on being part of some nutjob's experiment? I'd really like to know.

It's not a prison cell for one. Other than things like what happened recently, we're relatively well cared for and provided for.

And it's not like being an experiment is something new to me. It's either be an experiment here where there's a decent food supply or be stuck hoping I manage to avoid being taken to prison to rot.

It's not a prison cell, but it's a prison. Not like we can leave if we want, and those things do happen every month or so.

Sure, it's better than where you were before, from the sound of it--it must have been a total shithole if you think this is paradise. Me, I don't want to be an experiment anywhere.

But I was just wondering. Sometimes I feel like the people here are getting themselves brainwashed.

Trust me, I know all too well.

Anything is better than being on the run or in jail for the rest of one's life for someone else's actions.

And if it's brainwashing, it's very subtle. It just feels like the first vacation I've had in years for now. I practically lived in my armor before this. Now I can remove it without too much concern, other than making sure it doesn't end up stolen.
