Third Leap [Video/Action]
[Having watched the apparitions' effects on her friends, the reality has set in that that there might come a time when Homura would have to fight something else, to protect her friends and everyone in the Gardens.
Although she has a fair stockpile of weapons in her shield, an extended period of fighting might drain them quickly. Therefore it is important to make sure she has a source for them. With the soil she retrieved from the jungle, it was easy to create a number of reproductions of her homemade pipe bombs. The bombs have rested long enough, a week now, so Homura has decided to test one, to make sure her duplication has gone correctly.
The ever mischievous Vine has taken an interest in her activities, opening a Mirror for all to watch as the girl prepares in a deserted clearing. Homura wears an outfit only a select few have seen before, one somewhat reminiscent of a stylized sailor school uniform, with a buckler attached to her left arm. Distracted by what she is about to do, she does not so much as look in the direction of the Mirror.
Out of nowhere, a cylindrical object appears in her hand, as if pulled out of her outfit's left sleeve, like a magician. However, the object is thicker than her arm and never would fit. Hitting the top of the object, a red LED begins to flash as the object beeps quietly. Homura sets it down on the ground before vanishing into thin air, appearing in the distance at the same moment. Those with good eyes and an attention to details might notice that three circular parts of the shield move slightly, opening just a split second before she disappears.
It's but a brief moment later when bomb explodes, but not everything goes according to plan. Rather than create a fireball, the object simply explodes into a large cloud of multicoloured confetti with a soft popping noise, fluttering down upon the clearing and the surrounding areas.
The distant figure of Homura approaches the spot the bomb had been placed at, looking completely baffled up at the harmless rainbow of paper that showers her, landing on her face and catching in her hair. She lets out an audible sigh.
