[She'd forgotten the vine completely in her anger, but the sound of someone else's voice breaks Clare's focus briefly. She turns back to it now, still clutching her sword, her face not changing back just yet.]
[Clare closes her eyes, taking a few deep breaths as she pushes to get back her control. She's silent for a few moments -- and then she opens her eyes again, and they're back to their usual, unnatural silver, though she still seems a little on edge.]
[If it has been anyone else, she could more easily accept it as an illusion and calm herself down. But seeing Priscilla wearing that half-human skin, taunting her, is making it difficult to control herself; she takes a few deep breaths, but only really succeeds in not releasing any further.]
I will take her head. [As soon as she sees that monster again, here or anywhere else.]
[Jean's noticed what's been happening to the other women in the Gardens, these illusions preying on them, and it doesn't seem like Clare is any different.
The problem is that Clare is too far on edge, and Jean has seen what happens when she goes too far. She isn't sure who that girl was, but she knows that it has something to do with why Clare wanted to head to the north.]
I don't believe there is any head for you to take.
[The fact that Priscilla's ghost hasn't reappeared helps her to calm down, somewhat. Despite the heightened emotions she's dealing with, Clare is still capable of control, and she focuses all her energy on pushing that yoki back down. Eventually she seems to relax, a little, but she's still lacking her usual calm. Despite herself, Priscilla's appearance, and her words, got to her.]
Jean. [She isn't sure what to say, and she closes her eyes.] I'm sorry.
Clare. You have returned. [She is pleased to see the other woman, in spite of the situation, although she does not show it. The physical change in Clare interests her, but she does not mention it.]
The woman is most likely an illusion. If you leave the edges of the Gardens, she will not reappear.
An illusion? [It makes sense -- of course it does. Priscilla isn't a half-breed any longer, and even she, with all that power, isn't capable of disappearing in front of Clare's eyes. The fact that Clare is still here, unharmed, is almost proof enough.
But her breathing is still a little too heavy, and her eyes still glow gold.] I can't--
What do you need? [Sephiroth's approach to problem solving is direct. She doesn't fear going to the borders again, now that she's seen what they have to offer.]
[What does she need? She needs to tear Priscilla's ghost limb from limb, to make sure that monster dies at her hands -- nothing that she can get here, at least.]
... I need to return. [Losing control is bad enough, but doing so over something that isn't even real is worse.]
