[Someone is hissing at Reeve from a distance, trying to get her attention. That someone is, of course, Reno. After a few introductory hisses, her attention-getting takes the form of a sharp whisper.]

Hey, Reeve!

[Reeve raises her head, blinking in the direction of the hissing-- she was right, it's Reno. Feeling pleasantly drunk on sun, Reeve smiles, giving Reno a little wave with her fingers. She's too relaxed to move much more than that.]

Hello, Reno-- wait, why are you whispering?

[Reno doesn't actually answer the question, but her own follow-up question probably answers it well enough. She glances from side to side, crouching in the sand.]

Is you-know-who around?

[Reeve chuckles dryly. She doesn't lower her speaking voice.]
If by that you mean is Sephiroth here at the moment, no. She isn't. As far as I know, she's off sailing, seeing what there is to be seen.

[Her chuckle becomes a grin.] You look ridiculous, you know. Though your makeshift holster is very nice. Come over here if you want to talk!

[Oh look! Someone who Zenobia hasn't introduced herself to. Time to remedy that! She walks up and stops a few feet short of Reeve, plopping herself down on the sand.] Hello!

[Feeling the nearby impact of girl on sand, Reeve raises her head for a look around. Her hair has come out of its tie, so she moves it out of her eyes, smiling at her visitor.]

Oh, hello there. Lovely day, isn't it? [A closer look reveals she doesn't recognize her visitor.] Don't think we've met, my name's Reeve-- and you are?

My name's Zenobia. Nice to meet you! Since I haven't seen you before, I was hoping maybe we could talk. I like meeting new people.

And it is such a nice day. Ah, the ocean breeze, the sound of the waves... [Zenobia sighs, her wing twitching slightly.]

[Reeve smiles up at her visitor.]
Yes, I like meeting new people too-- I suppose this is the place for it, if there ever was one. You're welcome to stay-- it's a free beach, after all! If you don't mind my asking, do you have just the one? Wing, that is.

[It's odd, how much she's found herself at the beach these past few days. Maybe it's to make up for all the time she hasn't been able to, or maybe it's because of what happened between her and Fela here the other day, she's not sure. Quietly, she curiously surveys the beach.]

[When she spots Reeve, she almost decides not to go over. Only because the woman looks so peaceful and Gabrielle would rather not bother her, but she finds herself walking over anyway.] Enjoying the scenery?

[There's an awful long way for her eyes to travel on their journey up to Gabrielle's face. But the journey is a pleasant one, and she doesn't really mind at all. She smiles. Yes, Reeve has a special appreciation for blondes.]

Yes, I am-- and yourself? It always seems to be a beautiful day here, but these days at the seashore seem more beautiful than most.

[Of course, Gabrielle notices Reeve's gazing, but it's obvious she doesn't mind. In fact, she may even be preening a little because of it.]

I'm making up for lost time not being able to go to the beach for years, so I'm taking a three-day vacation to enjoy the sun. [She crosses her arms, gently tilting her head head with a smirk.] The scenery doesn't seem so bad, as well.

[Reeve's smile deepens slightly. Sharing a little mutual appreciation with Gabrielle is a welcome addition to an already wonderful day off.]

You know, I had almost exactly the same thought. I haven't been able to really get away for some time. I think I'm due a day at the beach, or few. There is a lot to see, after all.

But please, have a seat, if you like. There's a fair amount of towel to spare-- unless you were on your way to somewhere else?

[Epsilon has no interest in swimming, for obvious reasons, but she made her way down to the beach after hearing of its creation. It reminds her of someone. She gazes at the water, thoughtfully and a little sadly, but it does not take her long to turn her attention to the other people there. She recognizes Reeve and starts toward her, speaking before she arrives so as not to startle her, as she seems lost in thought, relaxation, or both.]

Good afternoon, Reeve. [She gives a small wave of greeting.]

[Lost in half-napping on a book, Reeve shakes her head as if to clear it. She returns Epsilon's wave and gives her a smile.]

Hello there, Epsilon! How are you enjoying the impromptu ocean?

It's a beautiful sight. I don't live near the ocean back home, but somehow I find I missed it. [She's dressed in her usual all black. She doesn't feel the need to change clothes in any setting. The temperature does not affect her, and the sun only fuels her.] Perhaps it has that effect on people.

It feels like it's been so long since I last saw the sea. [The last time was not a happy one, but it is peaceful here.] You seem to be enjoying yourself.

I am, actually. I don't have any strong emotional tie to the seashore-- unless you include a few vacations. But I do find it very relaxing-- and you're right, even though I haven't been down to it in a while, I feel now I was missing it all along. Something primeval, perhaps.

What sort of place did you make your home in, back on "Earth"?

[Jessica: has been in the water, though not swimming because fuck being in a swimsuit in public here. She does that awkward "trying to check out the journal without looking like you're being nosy and also trying not to be noticed but not really being sneaky because you don't want to bother anyone but really you're not trying to eavesdrop" thing. In typical self-conscious teen fashion.]

[Sleepy from the sun, Reeve doesn't register Jessica as being nearby immediately. When her peripheral vision does register the flash of color, she comes up onto her elbows, shading her eyes for a better look. Lovely. She doesn't move to close the journal. She does smile.]

That really is one of the nicest conspicuous looks I've ever seen. Have a seat, won't you? Unless you're on your way to somewhere else. I would offer you some lemonade, but a vacationing government security agent came by and drank it all. Well, nearly.

I'm not really on my way to anywhere... just kinda wandering. [So, she takes a seat.]

Government security? Like the bears?

I think the whole place is a diversion.

Ah, no-- just another resident, one I know from a universe with a similar structure to mine. [Smooth, Reeve! Reno wouldn't like you to out her to Sephiroth's pal when she's trying to avoid Sephiroth! Oh well, in a pinch she'll say it was Rude.]

[Reeve smiles. So, that's your conclusion? Do you think the diversion is the Queen's?
