[Feed shows Ash blond hair and a bright soft blue eye before she stands up and blinks. A contented cat purring loudly in her arms as she scratches behind it's ear]

Oh, so it's like a video call? What a strange plant...

[Moves closer and gives a bit of a strained smile] Does anyone know where I am or... what this vine is? Oh, and I have your ( Read more... )

Your pants should be around somewhere. I know I found my things not long after I woke up here.

Oh, you've been kidnapped, by the way. More or less. My condolences.

I am Canada! [Even the hint of an insinuation she's not is on the list of things that gets her terribly worked up.]

And I'm trying. I just... you're... Can I come meet you?

[She gives a very small nod, picking up the cat again and giving it a cuddle. It's cute and small and makes her feel slightly better.]

I don't know where em though...

I'll have a cat help. Just... I'm sorry. I'll be there soon.

Thank you, vine! [With that slightly hurried goodbye, the vine stops transmitting her image. Which is good, because Canada's already on her feet and heading in the direction she thinks someone-else's-Ukraine is in.]

[Gives a small nod and jumps a bit when the vine actually moves but settles in for petting the cat in her arms and waiting for the Canada-but-not to show up.]

[Not terribly long later, Canada arrives, military-style boots clashing horribly with her pleated skirt and still sporting a rather distraught expression. Stopping a few metres from someone-else's-Ukraine, she bends to scritch the cat that lead her here behind the ear and off she goes as Canada straightens, sizing up the stranger.]

... Pryvit.

[She gives a small wave, suddenly feeling extremely self conscious and blushes, looking away from her. She holds the orange tabby close to herself again like some kind of soft, furry shield.]

Hello...

I... I should apologize. I don't think I'm very good at dealing with things that don't make any sense quite yet.

[She gives a tiny, insecure smile. As obviously upset as she is, there's that sparkling, genuine quality to her apology and that tentative smile. Ukraine may just recognize it.]

So let's start again. Hi, I'm Canada and sometimes I go by Margaret or any nickname of that you care to think up. And it's very nice to meet you.

I-it's okie... I'm not much better... all I do is cry.

[Gives her a soft but watery smile]

Ukraine, but um... most just call me Katyushka or Kat. Is easiest for others.

Katyushka is pretty. It suits you well.

Oh, and what year are you from? I know that's a silly question, but things are sometimes a little messed up here. Ev-even moreso than this, I mean.

Thank you, Margaret is a pretty name but is bit of a mouthful.

[She blushes a bit and sets the orange cat down once he meows at her]

Oh, well my twentieth anniversary of my independence is coming up in August but it's 2011 that I'm from. But what about you?

Well, home, Ukr--

[Woah, hold up. Did she hear that right? If she did, she's grinning now.] You're independent? That's wonderful! Congratulations!

[smiles and blushes]

Thank you, it was a long battle and... I think it hurt my brother to see me go but I needed to do what was best. So, in 1991 I became independent and... Matvey, I guess you where you are from, was the first to recognize me. It was very nice, and is hard but I am trying.

[Oh. Hi, Ukraine. Sorry. Stranger Canada here just about tackling you in a hug, smiling just as wide as she can.]

I'm so happy for you. I don't even have the words. Of course I'd recognize you. You deserve it. Oh, if anyone deserves independence, it's you!
