one ❚ video.

[ The vine tunes in slowly and you can hear a child's voice, a girl's, mid-sentenced: --like this? and then a small gasp of surprise as the video focus a little bit more. There is, in fact, a girl. She's small and thin, about ten-years-old with long hair and dressed in a simple skirt, a navy blouse and a girly shirt with floral pattern, her legs ( Read more... )

( This girls sounds like she wandered in from a Lewis Carroll novel. Ellie will regard the vine extremely warily for a moment before even trying to respond.

It's mostly because her curiosity gets the better of her. It's probably going to involve some form of ridiculous terminology, but... she can't quite help herself. )

Island of Aunts?

( Welcome to the Garden, kiddo. )

[ She looks modestly surprised with the image that appears on the video, opening her mouth a little. She then shuts it and nods. ]

Yes. Me and Fabio-- I mean, Fabio and I, [ Because her father is a Professor of Grammar and he always corrects her on that. ] stayed there with the Aunts and Art and the old Captain... But then we had to go back home.

( Ellie closes her mouth after the kid corrects herself, and tries to ignore the fact that she knows someone called Fabio. Fabio? Really? It sounded like a fake name Homer would give himself, if he ever had the reason to. )

That, uh. That sounds like a real... adventure.

( :| ) So what do cheese and tomato sandwiches have to do with it?

[ She smiles a little bit. ] It was a very big adventure. [ She says it proudly and with a bit of nostalgia, like she is glad she went through it. ]

Oh, well, the sandwich was drugged and it made me fall asleep. [ Stated so... normally. ]

"Not-kidnapped"? I'm afraid you're quite wrong. Being taken somewhere against your will is the very definition of "kidnapped." [Ciel speaks with a Britsh accent as well, though hers peppered with tones of the old fashioned and haughty.]

[ She nods. ] But maybe we weren't really taken against our will. Because there's a third place for every one of us, you know? [ A pause. ] Maybe there's a reason why we are here.

A reason to kidnap us? That's a rather naive train of thought. The only reason anyone would force others into places like this is for their own gain.

[Ciel is beginning to think there's something wrong with this girl's mind.]

And what exactly is a "third place"?

For their own gain? [ She tilts her head, thinking about it. ] Not exactly. It can be to help others.

[ She perks up a little and there's a smile. ] A third place? It's a place that is neither here or there, you know? [ A little sigh. ] Somewhere where we feel... at home, even if it's not home with mum and dad.

Why, it seems you've been on an adventure already!

It's a pleasure to meet you as well, Miss Danby. I am Yukari Yakumo. Sadly I am as much of a...not-captive as you are.

Yes. [ A nod, a big smile. ]

Oh, it's just Minette, please. It is very nice to meet you.

Alright, but then you must call me Yukari.

So what exactly is the "Island of Aunts?"

I can't tell you anything, I apologize. But, well, it's a place where animals go when they need help because they were caught by the mess left by humans like, hum, seagulls covered in oil.

If you were not kidnapped what happened to you? And this time, I think you have been kidnapped, by the Queen.

I was chosen to be taken to the Island, not kidnapped.

No, I'm pretty sure this is... uh, well... a proper kidnapping.

Well, yes, I suppose so... [ A little pause. ] But maybe the Queen needs help?

That's what some people have said... but, uh, I don't really think kidnapping all of us was in order.

But she has to have a reason, doesn't she? It's just silly otherwise.
