Okay. The Queen's latest mess has been cleaned up. Nobody's dead. Some of us have medals. [ Not that Batgirl got a medal, despite nearly being eaten by half a dozen vampire plants. Vampants? Planpires? Lame. This is why they should've been Frankenplants. ] That's fantastic. Seriously, thanks to everyone who helped out through healing, fighting, and ( Read more... )

"In memoriam"... Perhaps reflection is in order.

That said, I think you might be looking for free therapy, chèrie.

Shhhh. Like all American teenagers, I have absolutely no issues weighing me down, and definitely won't turn to alcohol to deal with things.

I hope you won't! Wine is to be savoured, not wasted. Also, it can lead to rather embarrassing instances...

Actually, I'm not sure I even like the taste of wine all that much. I doubt I could get drunk on it, even with that shiny new bar someone just created.

How long have you been here already?

Let's see.

I turned up a few weeks before Christmas, and it's now a week and a bit after Valentine's, so it's been approximately way too long.

That long? And nobody's found a way out yet?

Nope. This place just sucks more and more people in.

Oh, now don't be like that. You couldn't have possibly prevented this.

Not unless I'd developed a flair for arson and a hatred for pretty pink flowers.

border_phantasm February 24 2011, 15:42:43 UTC
Exactly. Who wants to be like that?

Probably a worrying number of people, actually.

Who knows how all this world-jumping works. We ever do go back, might be right where we left off.

I don't think I've ever been that lucky. I have a higher chance of returning to an almost identical universe, with the only change being that everyone's a zombie. Or something.

[She laughs.] Sounds fun.

It sounds like there's the basis for a sitcom in there somewhere, but I'm not completely sure the brain-eating would get past the censors.

Oops?

Although frankly, I'll take unexciting kidnapped-for-someone's-terrible-singles-cruise time over kidnapped-for-someone's-terrible-singles-cruise-plus-things-want-to-kill-us time.

By the way, technically I don't think the whole kidnapping thing can count as a black mark specifically against you, failure wise, barring someone who's really passive-aggressive or something. Not unless you had some way of being aware of it and fighting back.

Okay, while you make a good point with that second bit - thanks, by the way - I kinda feel like pointing out that I've nearly died here. Twice. And I broke my arm.

Even if it's all an accident, and the Queen's not actively trying to kill us, something bad's gonna happen sooner or later. Something she won't be able to take back.
