um... however anchors communicate with pilots: yakuza_otaku February 16 2011, 03:00:13 UTC
You should let me pilot next time...

A headset. Made with strands of Vine, here, I think. hotshot_momma February 16 2011, 03:02:46 UTC
It's possible. If you're serious about that, I want to train you first, and Anchor you the first times out.

Everything seems to be checking out fine - keep an eye on the damage readouts, though. And if I'm a crab at you, well, you'll know the reason why and I apologize in advance.

W-well, I've always wanted to pilot a giant robot before.

Anyway, um... damage readouts seem fine. Using a giant robot against man-sized plants is kind of an unfair advantage, so uh... you'll only take damage if you charge too recklessly.

Of course it's an unfair advantage. Why do you think I'm using it? Last thing you want in combat is a fair fight - or, well, cheating in the enemy's favor.

This is much different than the anime, but if you think you can handle it, the only way to disabuse you of that notion is to let you try.

[The robot unfolds fully into humanioid form, standing over the creature. What was it's nose is now it's... no, it slid back into the belly, so that helps. Still, what is clearly a laser is now burning the thing to ashes.

And Anna's voice says through the helmet:] And stay dead.

An actual giant robot.

I never thought I would ever see one.

"That's being a bit generous. This thing isn't literally a robot, not really," Anna says, and the helmet echoes. "Check out where it stands between dream and reality if you don't believe me. But it hits like one," she says.

> Well that's new...

[Souji heads over to investigate the strange...robot, unaware that any such thing existed here. Her own sword and magic are ready to finish off that flower monster if the heat ray hadn't.]

Everything is screaming at you that this thing is - well, if it's not a Persona, then it's at least made with the same magics and to the same purpose.

The thing circles around and morphs into a more humanoid form, the laser turret rolling up to the belly. It holds up the katana in a defensive stance.

"This place is not safe for unempowered civilians," Anna's voice says, booming from a speaker in the helm.

[Rather than responding verbally, Souji simply focuses with a very serious expression, and an androgynous figure backed with a wheel and wreathed in flames appears and sets the plant corpse on fire some more.]

[She also gestures with her own katana, not that that seemed to be quite as effective.]

"...Impressive," Anna says. "Didn't know you had it in you. Discuss it after we deal with the Mandrake Rebellion?"

[she's climbed a tree to scout for more flowers, and spots the plane overhead. She tenses, thinking it's another enemy--then watches in fascination as it takes out the plant.]

[she scrambles down, running over to stand and stare up at it.]

That was amazing!

"Not particularly," Anna's voice says from a speaker. "It's another enemy, and that's all. Have you seen any other monsters?"

[that voice--]

...Anna!?

This is your weapon? It's...big.

[then she remembers the question.]

I...I fought one. I think its gone for good, but I'm not sure. One of my friends got attacked...

It is, isn't it? Scale takes some getting used to.

Did you use fire or chemicals to destroy it?
