Well I'd hate to be the bearer of bad news, but...

Not everyone appreciates the flowers the way you do.

In a world like this, with explicit instructions given about their care, I had hoped people might see things a little differently.

I'd assume they're doing fine. Roses are a very hardy species.

These are clearly very special roses. Is mere survival enough to aim for?

Sure.

Do you not think the ones who put these flowers here are watching how we treat them? Those who neglect their charges may be punished.

I have. Although I really don't know much about them... are they supposed to grow as tall as me?

There are such flowers, yes.

Ah, those would be sunflowers, right?

I'm quite fond of sunflowers. There are also Titan arum and Rafflesia arnoldii, though, to name two examples.

I can't speak for everyone, but I've been taking care of mine.

... I'm trying to, at least. I don't know much about gardening.

Roses are a hardy species. Give them sunlight, water and love, and they should flourish.

I guess I've been doing it right, then.

These certainly aren't like any roses I've seen, though. I know some flowers can grow to be as big as they are right now, but I didn't think this particular species was one of them.

I've never seen anything like this before. They're beautiful.

Is not it a wonderful thing to see those flowers thriving?

I can think of nothing more so.

Hmm. I can think of other things more wonderful to me, but after all everybody has their own things that are wonderful to them.

So long as we all keep an open mind.
