I love the H50 fic where Danny is wearing a flower over his ear and Steve has a real problem with it, though he has no idea why. I love how obtuse you make Steve. One of my favourite scenes is when Danny asks Steve why he hates that Danny is wearing the flower, and Steve faints from trying to express his feelings. According to Danny, anyway. That moment is hilarious with Danny's comments about it, and it never fails to make me laugh. How did you come up with that? Did the scene just happen, or was it something you thought of that was funny?

Shit, I'm so sorry bb I thought I'd have time to answer these yesterday and then we had to rush to dinner D:

It's been a while since I wrote that fic, but I'm pretty sure it was one of those things that just happened. Hopefully when I'm writing the situation will make itself funny rather than me slapping in something that I think is funny--with Steve, that moment was really just a culmination of how much his insane emotional constipation had built up. Steve was providing himself with ZERO outlets, not even recognizing that there was something to be in denial about, and that situation (plus probably locking his knees and not hydrating enough) led to him to nearly passing out. And Danny gives voice to what we're thinking as readers, so we get to see our OH MY GOD STEVE REALLY reaction in the text!

I'm gonna ask about my favorite fic of yours, at least I'm pretty sure it was by you, I SWEAR IT WAS YOU KLU. The one where they are singing everything out and bursting into song? Where did you come up with that idea? And did you laugh your ass off when you wrote it?

THAT IS ME oh my god. That fic, out of everything I've written, is my single most self-indulgent fic. Like, to the point where I don't dare go back and reread it because I'm sure I put too much of myself in it, I enjoyed writing it WAY too much.

I think part of the reason I came up with the idea was the musical episode of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and partly because of the title of Spn's Christmas episode--A Very Supernatural Singalong has a nice sound to it. Partly because there was a huge part of me that wanted Sam in any circumstance singing "I Won't Say I'm In Love" from Hercules.

But yeah, I cackled, I thrilled, I relished getting my hands on new songs that fit the circumstances I was writing them in. It was my first (and only) WIP fic and I enjoyed every single second of it. *hides forever*

Am I too late to ask a meme question? Because I was wondering about Put On A Slow Dumb Show For You. It seems like the kind of post-episode fic that might just pour out of you. Was it? Did it start forming in your brain during the episode, immediately after the episode or maybe later that night/the next day? I have had a few of those fics were the second the credits hit, I was at my keyboard typing away, uinable to stop until it was all out of me like a cathertic release. Was that fic like that for you?

Has Danny seen his parents since then, do you think? (he must have, they want to see their granddaughter sometimes too!) Since it's all my head-canon that your fic is exactly what happened after that episode, can it also be my head-canon that the first time Danny's parents came to visit after the Matty stuff went down, that Steve went with him to the airport for support? Okay then. Cool.

It was absolutely one of those fics that flowed out of me immediately after the credits started rolling--at that point I was still hardcore invested in headcanon-spackling all the plot holes on H5O (or as many as I could), and it seemed CRAZY to me that Danny would go to Rachel instead of Steve. Or if he did, that she wouldn't give him a shoulder to cry on, then send him on home. Ugh, don't even get me started on that. For a second there, when Danny got shot that one time and Rachel came to the hospital, I thought, "How nice that they have reached a level of friendship kind of. It's very sweet." But then it turns out they were sleeping together and just...NO. Danny would never do something that stupid that might hurt his kid. Neither would Rachel. And the back-and-forth bullshit, all of it BAD. It's so bizarre because I feel like they have gotten Steve and Catherine down perfectly and I love them SO MUCH, and yet the writers screwed Danny and Rachel over in such a monemental way, it's ridiculous.

OMG, your post-Matty canon for Danny is PERFECT! Him calling his folks when he knows they won't be home and just...WONDERFUL. I love it all and am keeping it forever in my head.
