Ha, so, yesterday at Willow was fun, if a bit chilly. We can take it, we're Alaskans (and also it helps knowing that YOU are not going to be traveling 1000 miles by dogsled in the near-future, those are some warmth-inspiring thoughts).

Yep, I was there for the restart! And I don't know, Buser's trying to reclaim his fastest-run record so I wouldn't count him out! Plus special place in my heart for Karen Ramstead--her dogs are all beautiful siberian huskeys and they were dead quiet waiting in line for the restart. (Also they're recovering from a moose attack, and I ALWAYS ROOT FOR THE UNDERDOG er, no pun intended) ;DD

Well Martin Buser is a guy you can never write off, he's tough and had excellent dogs (as does everyone else I guess :D)
I had no idea anyone ran Sibes. I used to run them myself and they are really something else. Completely different than alaskans in temperament. I'll watch her run extra close now!

I know a lot of people get a kick of the ceremonial start but the re-start is where the action is!

I don't know a whole lot about which dogs are best runners, but this team was impressive for sheer temperament if nothing else. Chill, serious motherfuckers, the lot of 'em. Little smug too, like "Aww, you think you've got a chance, cute."

I love that you can run any kind of dogs--it's probably completely ridiculous, but I'm holding out for a team made of Great Pyranese just for the OHHH SHIT looks on peoples' faces when it looks like someone's mushing a team of polar bears. ;D

Huskies can be pretty crazy--that's why they're good for running, because they're so damn hyper. We had a husky when I was a kid and she was basically feral--not in a scary, bitey way, but a ROOOAM THE WIIIILDS WITHOUT A CAAAARE IN THE WOOOORLD AND COME BACK SMELLING LIKE FISH kind of way.
