Sooooo. I have the new ep of Torchwood downloaded, and I'm kind of terrified of watching it. Okay, no, not terrified so much as >____O

It's fine really, so far. The development with the bad guy in the first ep is very WTF-inducing. Nobody understands American law practices, apparently. The new characters are kind of cool and engaging, but I'm very much not getting attached because I know that means terrible things will happen to them. Gwen and Rhys and the baby are cute and very badass.
Basically, it's not as immediately gripping as COE was, plot-wise or character-wise or acting-wise, but I'm expecting things to get crazier now that they've introduced things to the non-Whovians.
Okay, so--it still takes itself seriously, then. That's...good. I guess.
*siiigh* I miss the days when Jack flirted with everything that moved but loved Ianto and it was all sort of live-happy-until-you-die mentality and ridiculous monsters. Now if Jack so much as looks twice at another person/alien/thing I will smack a bitch. *eyetwitch*
I am 50% loving the hell out of it and 50% hating it so much I don't want to watch. I can't explain without spoiling, but I will say that there were two moments that had the potential to make me almost forgive RTD for, well, almost everything, and they failed me both times.
Still, there's that 50% that will make me watch next week as well.
I just need to take a deep breath and jump, I guess. Auuuuugh whyyyyyyy. RTD is such a blatant fan abuser, I hate indulging him. On the other hand: ....Jack.
Thus far it is okay. As someone who has watched all of Torchwood there is not enough of the crew (but that is because they killed them all) and too many new people I don't care about yet, but this is not a shock. If I hadn't been a fan of old Torchwood I don't honestly have given it a second episode. But I might have, because I might have loved it if I didn't have huge enormous RTD issues.
See, if Chad had been in it? I'd have cared about his character immediately. Just for the LOL value. But now he has to make me care about people who have a HIGHER PERCENT CHANCE OF DYING THAN ANY OTHER TV CHARACTERS ON EARTH.
I know nothing except that Cheeky is supposed to be in an episode at some point. Which, whatever episode that is, someone is going to be giving me the DL link. CHEEEEEEEKS!!!!!!!!
I'm as torn as you. I haven't even acquired it yet. I actually have Starz but decided not to give them the ratings if I even bothered watching. I'm really curious about a few things but the trailer made me get ick face so...I'll watch if you watch. I don't even wanna make that decision myself.
