The Stupid, It Burns!

As you may or may not know I am childfree, meaning I am not having children. Ever. There are lots of reasons, mostly it's just not for me, yadda yadda yadda. Anyway...I was on a CF board and I saw a post that refrences this article.

No, I totally support women who choose not to have babies. The world is overpopulated enough already! I'm shocked at what that guy said, I mean, in this day and age?! Furthermore, I just don't like kids, not even when I was a kid. Most are loud, annoying, dirty, and stupid. For one nice one to be born, 10 troublemakers follow to maintain the imbalance. Not very good odds.

Perfectly reasonable rant, I say!

Some people are just...disturbed I guess. I wish people like him didn't exist but...

6.5 billion people on this planet and not wanting kids is a problem? 0_o

Exactly! In fact, if anyone has ever used their ass in child rearing I hope someone called child protective services ASAP.

When I say I don't like children, babies gross me out, and I will never ever have any of my own, the worst response I get is "you say it now, but you'll probably be the first with a child among us." Seeing your post reminded me of this person I met through a LOTR fiction site a few years ago. She was, and I imagine still is, extremely talented and smart, and as I started talking to her more and more I found out she was deeply into religion, and had all sorts of ideas I did not agree with. The one you mentioned above was one of those.
What a weird way to remember someone... I wonder what she's doing now?

Probably birthing kid #6.

I hate those comments. My least favorite is, your just too young to know that. Okaaaaay. If I were 21 saying I wanted three, nobody would question it.

As I was typing this, my co-worker brought in her puppy. One of the deans from the other office was passing through andwhat was her comment after petting it?

"Not as exciting as when a baby comes in." Grrrrrrr.

OK, gross. Here rises my other problem: when people have a baby, no matter how ugly or gross it is, you always have to coo all over it and admire it. Why lie to the kid's face? Parents, your baby is ugly and it's spit is not cute, it's bloody disgusting. DO NOT shove it in my hands. The baby's heavy and I don't want it's slime all over me, no matter how "clean" it is.

So there.

My friends hate it when I see a baby and say it's ugly. Its not my fault someone produced an ugly kid. I even told my friend that when her son was first born he looked like an alien, but that he was cuter now. She just laughed.

And there is no such thing as clean spit. Especially if the mom breast feeds.
