It'll Be Soon

“When will he come back?” her son always asks her, when they’re on board the ship. She knows who he’s talking about, naturally, and although she can’t blame him for being curious, sometimes she wishes he could understand that she is just as impatient as he is.

But she always swallows this comeback that immediately comes ( Read more... )

I like this ... I think my only suggestion might be an eye to the math. If it's four more years (which I expect she doesn't mean four years exactly, more like "four years and some change," the boy would be a little older than almost four ... unless someone else is his father? (If she's thinking privately "almost five years," that would make sense, because the boy could be almost five years old.) Again, just a suggestion if you wnat it.

But it's well-written and cute! (And how in the world did you manage to get plaid into your LJ design?)

Thanks so much for the feedback!

Well, I did say "four years, almost as long as he’s been alive", right? Or is there another place that I messed up? I do see what you mean, it's phrased really oddly now that I look at it.

The layout is from thefulcrum, I have no talent with HTML at all...there are a ton of really gorgeous LJ designs there, it was really hard for me to decide which one to use!

Anyway, thanks again for your comment ^_^

OK, I see what you're saying - I think my eyes transposed it that he was younger than the four years. X-)

(You might be able to ignore that part. LOL)

The only journal I have that's at all fancy is turningpirate and that's because I begged someone else to do it for me. I don't even know how to upload the buggers.

Whoa, the graphics for your comm are lovely!

I know that there are tutorials on certain communities, it's really just a matter of copying and pasting a code. Anything more and I, being technology challenged, would probably be completely confused :P

That's a bitter-sweet little slice-of-life tale, and no sappier than the subject matter requires.
