So, I realize this is rather a long shot, but does anyone have an AO3 invite code they'd be willing to share

I've requested an invite, but here's a link to a post by one of the mods, who already has invite codes and is offering to give them out for people who need them. And since sign-ups are apparently closing tomorrow, this way will probably be faster.

And indirectly, thank you for letting me know the fest was happening in the first place. Your post asking for brainstorming help made my virtual ears begin to perk up in rediculous excitement (the Aurors are some of the most underrepresented and fascinating characters in the fandom, imho) and I madly googled until I discovered precisely what this fest was.

And I'm so sorry for putting you to all the trouble of requesting an invite code; when I originally asked for codes, I thought they'd be something like with Dreamwidth, where they were handed out upon beginning an account; I never imagined it'd be that difficult to obtain one *is sheepish*

And yeah, I really do think I'll have fun writing for the fest *drools over several of the prompts*

I was just about to suggest requesting one, but I see someone else has already done that for you (and you have presumably done it yourself). Another tip: if you were to, say, write a Yuletide treat but did not yet have an AO3 name, you can ask the Yuletide mods to hook you up with an invite because fest mods can jump the queue for people participating. If you're interested, there's a list of everyone's Dear Yuletide Author letters by name and by fandom in this public spreadsheet.

You were actually one of the first people I thought of when I heard of the fest; there are lots of pairing specific prompts, but there are some more general ones you might have rediculous amounts of fun with, and I'm almost positive you have an AO3 name?

Also: I had no idea you could write for Yuletide after signups closed; I've seen so many fantastic fannish requests that were never picked up, and I would've been writing treats ages ago, if I'd known you could *makes note for next holiday season*

You can indeed write Yuletide fics for anyone you like! :) If they're over 1000 words, they go in the Yuletide collection (and etiquette is usually to tag said submission as a 'Yuletide treat' so the assigned author still gets appropriate recognition for writing the thing they were assigned), and if it's less than 1000 words, it goes in the Yuletide Madness collection, which the mods open once everyone has received a full-length gift (usually the 23rd or 24th). It's a great way for people who love the *idea* of Yuletide but are kind of intimidated the sign-up process or the idea of getting something they're not sure if they could do to participate.

And ohhhh, some of the prompts at that fest are so very tempting, but gah, I don't know if I'll have the energy to write another full-length fic after I finish my Yuletide story (and if I can, one or two of the 46356343 treats I plan on writing every year). Just got done with hoggywartyxmas and haven't even started Yuletide yet, and the idea of a breather between Yuletide reveals and seting up dysfuncentine for

The mods are considering keeping the collection open even after the fest closes, so that more of the prompts can be claimed/written for, so perhaps after Dysfuncentine, if it remains open?

You've no idea to what degree I wibbled over several of the prompts before finally deciding, and awesome ones keep being added, which makes me very very glad I claimed already!

And yay for Dysfuncentine returning for another year; I enjoyed it so very much last time! There're really beginning to be some fantastic rarepair fests that are spaced just far enough apart you're always getting a rarepair fix.

And thank you so much for that explanation of Yuletide *ponders if I could slip in a short treat, with my Aurors fest story becoming a monster already because some of those fandoms are phenomenal*
