I had good intentions! I guessed what was going to happen basically :D I do really like Neil Gaiman though; Good Omens is a particularly satisfying read.

I think Queen of the Damned was one of Rice's best works, especially after getting through The Vampire Lestat. She tends to drone, in much the way Tolkien does, but in Queen she kept things really intense and exciting. Plus, I've always been really fascinated by ancient evil.

I know! The scope of that book is amazing. She really brought to life the world of like 30,000 years ago. The movie was a disappointment. I'm not sure who thought it would do the book justice - there's just no way to fit all that content into a movie it would have taken a series.
