I loved it, though it made me sad all over again that Dean wasn't allowed to be a child enough to have an imaginary friend when HE needed one! Sully was just doing what Sam wanted him to do. He did mention telepathy - and he was worried about keeping Sam safe, maybe he thought 'running away' could do that. But...he wasn't perfect. I do love though, that his intentions were nothing but good. Even though he accidentally got one of his charges killed, it was because he was on the same level as that child. He truly didn't know what he was doing at the time...and his horror and pain rang very true. His forgiving Rhys afterwards, even after his friends had died...that was beautiful
( ... )
I loved the forgiveness scene, too. I hope Sully and his kind come back someday. The Boys can always use more friends :) Also, LOL about Sam getting his head out of his butt. Yeah, I love him, too, but he really has a selective memory :-P
At least Sully got a chance to tell Sam he's a hero
When are we going to get a backstory where someone tells Dean he was all that and a bag of chips? Or when are we going to get one of these poor Sammy backstories where Sam finally opens his eyes after 30+ years and realizes that Dean had a truly horrible childhood too, arguably much worse than Sam's, with no one to make him feel better or help him?
I admit, I was also concerned that this would be a rather one-sided ep with Dean being thrown under the bus, but it wasn't that bad and I rather liked it!
My major pet peeve is why didn't Dean get a Xana (don't know right spelling either, but have seen this as in from 'Xanadu'). When Dean was little he lost everything and was raising his brother, but he didn't get an invisible friend (and I can so see that mullet-haired air-guitar guy being awesome for him ;) ).
I rather see Sully and co. as kids in adult bodies where running away would seem a viable option, but it is a rather odd suggestion as a good idea for a 'protector' to make. At one point I actually thought that, since Sam had been subtly nudged by demons in different forms through his whole life, that Sully was one of them and that was why he wanted him to run away.
Other than that, good ep., loved the sweaters, and am not sure how Sam made the leap from visions of the cage to deciding that God wants him to go back there O.o
Dean and that mullet guy would have been awesome! Sadly, Dean had a rough time as a child, and he probably thought he didn't deserve an imaginary friend :( Not that Show will ever show that... ::angry grumbles::
