Five months I've been working on this chapter. FIVE. I have rewritten the last six pages of it 12 times alone, and yet it still isn't right. Seriously, why can't it just get done? Why can't I get it right? I feel like I can't even trust my writerly instincts anymore. I've done every trick, asked for and received amazing advice, and i just keep

Sorry, hon. *big, squishy hugs* I know it's hard to see all that work and not be able to see it all the way through (yet?). Maybe it's waiting for some future circumstance that will click everything you need into place?

No giving in, you are nearly there and once you overcome this you will feel so much better that the next time you have a block you'll look back on this and say, I survived the chapter from hell and made to the other side so I can get through this. Plus, I'm sure you're being much too hard on yourself. Your stories are gold. And hell let's face it, we're Supernatural fans, we watch for hot men in hot man pain. The fic is better written than the episodes half the time. Give us man pain, man remorse, and man comfort, and we're happy. (Wrote a Supernatural spec once, everyone loved it, got a fellowship and everything, easy. Tried a Dexter- now those people are brutal and their expectations high (me included), especially around seasons 3-5. Whew!) You can do it, we believe in you, and we'll love it no matter what!!!! (I mean short of out right killing Dean you can pretty much get away with anything here, cause we already love the story, he's stood up to Sam and now he just has to learn to stand up for himself. And he can get big or teeny.

::SMISHY HUGS:: Thank you so much--I truly needed a confidence boost. It's just such a pivotal chapter so I wanna make sure I get it right, and I think that's why I keep rewriting the end. I mean, you try writing a scene where Dean FINALLY realizes he deserves better and see how YOU handle it! Not. Easy. I just want to do the moment--and the character--justice.
