im not talking about touching things, i'm asking you what you know about speed/adderall.... this isn't so that i know what cool drug omg i should do, i just want to know... it seems now that this was a "Be drug-free!" lecture.

It's better to be drug free. Not to be all religious or anything but you live inside your body, it does what you want it to do, allows you to be active and to live. I think that because of that it should be respected. Not to say you shouldn't have fun but I think you can have more fun if you're in control and you remembering the good times. drugs might give you a good time at the moment but you won't even remember it.

I smoke but only for a year and I'm still in control when I smoke. I've actually quit now...earlier tahn planned. ^_^

since you seem to have such great points about the other things, i wanted to know what you knew about speed since it IS legal, and given to people with ADHD. but i see you've been biased towards anti-drugs.

I'm very conscious that the sort of information I'm giving out could be interpreted by others as an education, or even an incitement into drug-taking (a "how-to" manual if you like). I am a pharmaceutical scientist and even the suggestion that I have been aiding or encouraging illegal drug use could have serious effects on my life. Of course I'm biased towards not taking drugs: I know what they can do to a person.

Speed is not legal without a prescription. Plenty of "recreational" drugs are legal by prescription but illegal without - majiuana, opium, heroin, cocaine, amphetamines, nitrous oxide to name a few. Just because a drug is legal by prescription does not make it legal or safe for personal use

I know it's isn't legal without a prescription. Ofcourse, that's how it is, or else we'd have half the population ODing off of it. I brought it up, because it seemed to be one of the drugs most commonly prescribed from what I was told in Psychology.

Take it from someone who has spent a lot of their life on SSRIs (Selective Serotonin Uptake Reinhibitors) - they can have drastic effects even when they're prescribed and well-understood. Read back about a month in my lj for an idea...

again i know they are bad, my point was to KNOW/LEARN about it, not to be told how bad drugs are. I wanted to be informed. INFORMED as in INFORMATION. Not opinions on a matter.

Yeah, sorry - not trying to preach at you. Just giving you the inside view on SSRIs, which a lot of people seem to take like candy these days.
