My 15 Minutes of Fanfic Fame

Any Xena fans out there?  Wayyyy back in 2001, just after the end of XWP, the Academy of Bards posted a challenge to redo the finale.  How could I resist...?  So I wrote my one and only piece of fanfic: Hi no Tori (Japanese for 'The Phoenix').

You know, I have a vague recollection of reading this when it first came out. (Even though I always tried to avoid FIN stories.) Your Aphrodite sticks in my memory. Anyway it was great. The screenplay format is really hard and you have it down. So come back to the fold and write some more. On your rec, I'll try some Popular ff. I am currently working on a sequel to the Ramada. Not one of my more successful stories, but I like a change of pace.

Thanks! Yeah, the screenplay format is what I usually write in. I have some original works I've completed that I may post parts of.

I am looking forward to reading your next work. Personally, I liked the Ramada story. It was a good addition to the universe, and it was cool to see some of the other characters interacting and not just B&J. Seeing Jo and Tootie having some time to just hang out together worked-they were the four musketeers after all-not just two sets of two friends-you know?

Thanks for your comment on the sequel. I was thinking of you when I had Jo thank Cherie for "the double pump move". In the first story I ever wrote, "Catching Up" Blair wonders where Jo learned a particular amorous move. Now you know the answer. That is why this stuff is fun. Anyway, is your original stuff posted anywhere?

I haven't posted it anywhere yet. It is in screenplay format, so I need to play around with it in livejournal and make it work right. And I've thought about writing it out on novel form, but that would take a lot of effort.

If you have the time and would like to read it, I'd be happy to email a PDF of it to you. But don't feel pressured. Its full feature length (120pp), so that takes a little while to get through. And if you have as much free time as I do (i.e. none) I would completely understand. I also know when I'm writing I don't like to read anything so I don't chameleon that author's style.

But if you want to I'd be thrilled to email it to you. I love getting feedback on what works and what doesn't.

On the subject of your writing: is there anything new in the fire? I loved your last one, but it had precious little of Bella the dog. Oh, and the part where she was completely obedient to Mrs. G: that was a riot.
