So it turns out yet again that I can still fall into getting hurt.

It is interesting how one can keep their heart safe from hurt by not giving it away, yet one can still be hurt nearly as much by opening up to a friend.

Ok, so 'interesting' may be a sarcastic term for it.

I have a hard time with being vulnerable. This is neither earth shattering

I don't think it's that unusual. I used to have a lot of close friends among the students here up until 2009. Early that year one of them betrayed me in a big way, and then a few months later another was killed by a hunter. Since then I've shut most of myself off from the students--the only ones I am close to now I already was by '09.
