We got extremely lucky. I'm frankly amazed we have power back already (and never lost water); lots of people are still in some serious shit.

We were more likely to suffer a chainsaw accident the next day than actually get hurt during the storm, but thanks all the same. :)

It was mostly something to hear, at least while the winds were 100+. The outskirts were fun to watch, though; sitting on the porch while the wind whips the water into solid-seeming whorls and walls is preferable to sitting inside in the dark and sweating your ass off. The characteristic blue-green glow, brighter than the lightning, of dozens of exploding transformers on the horizon are also strangely beautiful, though it means someone else is getting screwed.

It's good to hear you're okay. I was in Florida when it hit Texas, so I got a bit of the rain and nothing else, but I was wondering how you were doing.

We're gonna be cleaning up for weeks, but while we'll need a new roof, the house is still structurally sound.
