On Thursday, I found out that Gerard Schwartz (conductor of the Seattle Symphony) was going to be attending my concert this Sunday due to the fact that his ridiculously talented (SIXTEEN-YEAR-OLD) son won our concerto contest and is playing (MEMORIZED) the first movement of the Dvorak cello concerto with us

We ended up playing just fine, of course :P And according to my teacher (who played the concert with us because our section was a bit thin), he didn't do as well at the concert as he did at the two dress rehearsals preceding it. Apparently he missed an octave or two on one of the crazy double-stop runs. Tsk tsk.
