Today I came home to find out that they had demolished out patio.

Perhaps not the most pleasant surprise, but much more exciting than anything that ever used to transpire at my parents' house while I was gone for the day.

Well, there was still a patio, it was just covered in plastic. Turns out they just wanted to rip up the old cement and put in new cement. No idea why though.
