Fic: Cross Country, Part One

I need a kick, so I'll just post a teaser and y'all can kick me to finish the rest! I am writing, but it's not the same with NaNoWriMo and Yuletide over (sigh...)

Hey, y'know what this series needs? Some cover art! Or maybe an icon. Anybody want to make a nice OTPx2 manip for Team Ellison?

Y'know, I'm really stuck on the middle part of this one, because it's got a lot of angst stuff that I want in there, but I don't want to write it. Slashfest is almost over, and once my commitments there are done I'm coming back to this, and if I have to I'll skip the damn middle section and get to the fun action climax. I like action climaxes. Who needs angst?

Anyway. More is definitely planned. It's my second . . . um, third . . . priority.

*poke*

I love stories that are action-driven. I love stories that are action-driven and that encompass excellent characterization. I love stories that are action-driven and that encompass excellent characterization and character growth, and that contain details about the environment and the interactions of a number of people.

I hate when stories stop before finishing!!!!!

Please, please, pretty please write more?

Ah, yeah. Working on that one. Kinda slowly. The middle section sucks. I should give up on it and just skip to the end, but I'm not quite there yet. (And I also have several other projects in train...) But it's definitely on the list!

I've written the scene where Ellison has a talk with John. And then it gets more angsty because John gets worried about being too attached to Rodney, and when he tries to talk about it he sort of accidentally breaks up with Rodney . . . and then it totally bogs down and I can't write for shit. I think they don't want to be broken up, even temporarily. But I don't want to unwrite it, because this is what I think needs to happen. I guess I should just brush over the being broken up part and get to the dramatic danger/action sequence and then the makeup sex.

That's okay, you've given me a great kick with your comments so far. I just have to buckle down and do it!

I love this series! You do such a great job with this AU Atlantis--utterly believable if we accept the "what if" differences--and with the characters. This was another great installment. the tension had me on the edge of my seat during the Wraith-hunt and the search on the dead Daedalus, and oh! when Blair's neck was broken! I thought Jim would freak out, but you had him *think* and grab for the only chance Blair had. So cool. You tell a great tale!
