EDIT: This post has been moved to my personal LJ due to the fact that I offended someone I never meant to offend.

Comments left for the post on Quarter_Mile are still here but future ones will be at my journal. I don't wish to offend anyone.

Now at My LJThis post was just my wanting to connect to other people who were going through the sadness I ( Read more... )

For the last two hours I've been playing with an idea in honor of Mr. Walker. I was thinking of having a memorial fest that will kick off on his birthday and end on the anniversary of his death where every fic written for it will have to feature/star Brian O'Conner. What do you guys think?

I know for one, I will continue writing my TFAF fics though it might be a while before I feel comfortable writing smut pieces again. He cared about his fans, always stopping for an autograph and such so I think me dropping the stories I have written would not be right.

I think a memorial is a great idea.

I'd be interested, but I was also just coming to the comm to see/ask if anyone had considered doing an auction type thing with all proceeds going to Paul's charity, as a way to show our respect and honor his loss.

From a mod perspective the post was fine, jsyk. According to THR flming #7 is on hold for the moment, but unlikely to be abandoned. Probably not even the filmmakers know yet, how they're going to write Brian out.

Well thank you for that. I just upset someone and that was never my intention. I know we're all on edge with the tragic news of his passing. But I do thank you for letting me know that it was alright.

Sincerely,
J

We are all depressed and stunned by the news. We come from different cultures and different life experiences, so it is certain that we will express our pain and sadness in different ways.

I don't know who the other gentleman and fandom disappeared a couple of years ago, and I'll be honest I truly couldn't imagine writing anything with Brian in it because I thought it would be an insult to his memory, my friends (who are not even in the fandom disagree and pointed to the fact that we were not writing real people stories but characters' ones) they changed my mind but I am not ready.

Nevertheless, as long as he is in our memories and our stories and art pieces, Paul will be alive. Fandoms often survive long after they stop airing (at least for the whedonverse) and some get revitalized (see star trek reboot) so maybe this sad and inconsolable truth will bring us together in ways we weren't before, accepting all pairings as part of a family we love and full of encouraging words for our fellow fans?
