Welcome to the first ever Summer Fest on quarter_mile! Thank you to the mods dirty_diana and kelly_girl for giving me permission to host it here.
This fest is open to everything and I mean everything. If you want Brian leading Dom around on a leash, Dom and Letty on the Mexican beach, Brian and Mia eloping, Vince pummeling Brian into the ground, Letty beating the stuffing out of Elena etc, you can leave a prompt. MA rated and NC-17 rated stories are also welcome. Who doesn't love a steamy scene between their OTP or OTT or even OT4 pairings? Writers, please ensure you post the proper warnings, such as for pedophilia, rape, AND SPOILERS!
The way this fest will work is as a prompt fest which be easier for us to organize and execute before the movie comes out. For prompt fests, the first round is where anonymous readers and writers as well as the logged in ones can post their various prompts as they come to life. Our doors are open to everything as per the rules of the QM community. Once the prompts have been posted and the doors closed, the prompts will then posted in a master list for writers to claim which is on a first come first served basis. Then for the next couple of weeks, writers work on their pieces until the third round begins, allowing writers to post their FINALIZED products.
Rules:
1) Due to the imminent release of the sixth movie and the fact that a few people may not be able to see until a few weeks later, ALL stories containing spoilers must be state in their titles that it contains spoilers. An example would be “Fic: Darkened Heart [FAST 6 Spoilers!]”. Any posts ignoring this will be removed without exception.
2) No flaming, bashing, trolling, etc is allowed.
3) Proper warnings and ratings must be followed.
4) Those who fail to complete their assignments will be banned from any future fests. The moment you claim a prompt, you are committing yourself to the fest.
5) We reserve the right to change any rules and/or guidelines.
Fic/Art Submissions:
A) Stories must be a minimum of 1,000 words long. There is no maximum as long as your story has a beginning, middle, and end.
B) Art and video is also accepted. Art must be completed and videos must be at length 3-4 minutes long. Art must have a thumbnail that's 100x100 to show above the LJ cut.
C) Stories written for this fest CANNOT be posted anywhere else until the beginning of the posting period on April 28th and must be original, completed stories at the time of posting. It is up to the author to either have their stories archived here at QM or posted at other sites. By original, I mean never before seen fics. So it can't be a sequel to another story unless it can stand on its own.
Summer Fest Schedule
CHECKPOINT 1: Miami, Florida
April 14th - Saturday, April 20th: Prompt submission period which will be adjusted based on the number of prompts received.
CHECKPOINT 2: Houston, Texas
Sunday, April 21th - Sunday, April 28th: Prompt Claiming. You can choose a second available prompt if you have finished your first/previous prompt and have posted it.
CHECKPOINT 3: Los Angeles, California
Friday May 24th: Posting period begins. You can post your fics (or artwork) on the site at any point in time between then and June 24th to celebrate the release of the sixth movie.
PARTY AT THE FORT
Monday, June 24th: The fest will close on this date. Then go watch the movie. :P
All deadlines are by 11:59pm PST on that day.
Prompt Guidelines
Incomplete sign-ups/applications will be automatically denied. I will not be chasing for information for your prompts. If suggesting artwork, please note that it may not be fulfilled as this is limited based on the amount of artists participating. When creating your prompt, try to keep away from getting too specific as this will sorely limit the horizons the author/artist will be writing/drawing in.
Good example:
I like Dom/Brian focused scenes, Charger, ice cream, the 'walk of shame' for either character
Bad example:
I prefer stories where Brian and Dom are out to pick up ice cream for a pregnant Mia. Brian starts eating the ice cream on the way back though Dom warns Brian not to eat it as it's for his pregnant sister and the kid has Vince's appetite. Dom is so distracted he almost crashes, recovers, and pulls over. Dom proceeds to attack Brian in the alley. They're almost caught by Brian's former colleagues.

Submission Guidelines
All assignments are due between April 28th, 2013 and May 24th, 2013 for everyone! Request for extensions can be sent in a private message to me. You are responsible for posting your own artwork/fic.
Don't also forget to include the headers below for your respective assignments. This will be set for public viewing while the story will be hidden by LJ-cuts. You are also welcome to create your own headers but they must contain the basic elements below.
