I'm all for the cheap kinda geekery. Like figuring out that short-grain brown rice leftover from dinner + a little bit of pancake syrup + milk = something between Rice Crispies and oatmeal.
I admire you. I so can't garden. It's what I dreaded most about home-ownership, aside from clogged drains and a heater that needs to be removed immediately if not sooner. I love looking at beautiful yards, and I'm an outdoor kinda person, but for some reason, I just can't do it soikindahiredsomeone.
Yeah, go ahead and laugh. ^__^ Sounds like yours will be wonderful, though!
Nah, I actually suck at it. The lawn and the borders are full of weeds and therefore look like something the woods barfed up. >_< Thank god we're out in the country where no one can see or care that my yard looks horrible. Nothing wrong with hiring someone. XD
BUT the vege garden is finally starting to look presentable after these last two afternoons of work! One step at a time....
Oh god, don't talk about home ownership! ;___; If one more thing breaks around here I will cry or put my fist through something. And it will likely be the water heater, so I will be crying and unable to take a shower.
My setting is more urban than yours, but the Napa Valley is green, green, green. And my allergies this year? Omgf, just shoot me, will you?
Fists and doors. It's a bad habit of mine. >_< So I shan't tease you on the subject of leaking roofs and the flood-damaged $50,000 cottage detached garage in my back yard. As for bathrooms and showers, my bloody tile wants regrouting. Aaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrgh!
Every kitchen appliance except the range has gone out since we bought this place. And make sure to seal that grout and that your shower pan (or similar) is sound ...... otherwise you'll be looking at water damage to bad that it necessitates tearing out the entire shower, subfloor, and replacing the joists that hold up one corner of the house. *curses*
Oooo, flooding, that's not good. >.<
What inspired us to buy houses anyway? It can't have been anything sane.
Oh that sounds cool. I wonder how the orange mint would taste in mojitos?
*Sigh* I can't even remember to water the plants this year. I wish I'd get on it and at the very least replace the things that died during the winter. Place looks like Halloweentown in spots XD.

As I said to Ravengirl above, I actually really suck at it. But I'm enjoying myself anyway. XD
