Leon still woke up in the dark sometimes.  It was always on cold nights, always on nights where the moonlight was hard like a blade and twice as sharp.  Suppressing a shudder, he got out of bed and reached for his jacket on the chair beside his bed.  His feet slid into his boots without even touching the floor and he was glad.

.... dljkhdlkds I can't even critique this, I loved it so much. I loved the back-and-forth between past and present, I loved all the scenes of the past you showed, and all the actions you described. I loved the gunblade and the scar, and I loved the charactericterizations. Lovelovelovelovelove. <3<3

XD;; Yeah, can you tell it was getting late and I was TIRED when I wrote the ending? Originally, I had planned to go back to the present, but I was falling asleep at the keyboard and said "ENOUGH" and posted it. ^^;;

You're very right about the ending... As tempted as I am to go back and fix it RIGHTNOW, I have to work on my drabble for today (and school XD;;) so it'll have to wait. However, I'll definitely fix it. This is my favorite of the three fics I've done so far by a long shot and has also been something I've been meaning to write for a while, so I'm very happy with it.

I have to admit that the only thing that's made me feel the Halloween "spirit" lately has been writing these pieces. And buying Halloween Oreos! *laugh*

For some reason, I find that writing "creepy-fucked-up-as-hell" fanfics is a lot more fun than writing just the normal kind. ^^;; Even when it's not "dark" month, I manage to put things like cannibalism and/or masochism or the like into my work. Of course, there's also the less fucked-up pieces and those are fun too. ^^;;

*laugh* Oh Braig. I was wondering if he'd be very different from Xigbar, but they ended up being fairly similar. He's a little more wise-cracky than Xigbar, but REALLY fun to write. Squall was also fun. I'll have to write more of that pairing. ^_^
