Title: The Domino Effect Show: Life With Derek Category: Post-ep for Futuritis Rating: PG Notes: All italicized text are taken directly from the last scene of the series finale.
Yay! That is exactly the way I hoped they were thinking when I watched that scene! I think you did a great job at getting inside their heads and bringing everything they'd repressed out in this way.
I love that there is all this potential for the two of them in college together.
I loved Casey's reaction to the breakup between Emily and Derek and that she is using Truman until college (plus doesn't care that he might be doing the same).
And you had the little hint at the end that they stay together! Just perfect! :) pheobe

Thank you so much! It means a lot to me to hear you say that. I have to admit, I watched that last scene more times that I can count!

You know, I watched "Rude Awakenings" for the first time last night and loved how as soon as Derek and Casey broke away from their families (plural because it was yet another example of the family being split down the McDonald/Venturi divide) and it was just the two of them, they found the solution to their problems. It's like a foreshadow about what college was going to be like.

BRAVO!!! Loved it!! It should have ended like this...I am so disappointed that they said that there will not be any flirting between these two in the new movie coming out! Way to string us along for 4 years! Uggggggggg!
And don't worry about there not being any flirting in the script. It's all in the delivery and the actors will give us something, whether its a grin, a shoulder bump or a long stare.
That scene is beautiful and I absolutely loved your take on it. The way you got into their thoughts was brilliant. There was just so much hidden behind that dialouge that has to be interpretted!
Oooh, my gosh! This is fantastic. It's a new take on Futuritis I haven't seen, I like how you had Casey catch on to her feelings and hold the power there for awhile. Nice job!
Thank you so much! I think this piece was to empower Casey and give her a little more credit for being aware of her feelings. I'm so glad you enjoyed it!
I love the idea that there is a connection between them that's deeper than boyfriend/girlfriend, and that it's not just a complication they have to rise above - it's special in its own right.
Thank you! By being "family", Derek and Casey got to grow close without having to worry about all the complications that come with dating in high school. If anything the step-sibling thing just up the stakes. If they ever decided that they want to be more, then they both have to go all in.
And I love that you took the whole ending scene and took it in a really different direction - instead of them heading into angst-ville, they're sounding each other out
Well, that's me. Even my angst has a cream-filled center. :-P But truthfully, Casey is so by-the-book and Derek is so anti-complications that once they finally realize that the other feels the same way, they'll make it work.
And I really like that Casey makes that first move.
Well, you know, on the show right as they're pulling away, Casey actually does deliberately move around the
